I dont believe the controller will worth $150(No packaging + alot of fees if you decided to sell on ebay) especially after ebgames deal and after Microsoft announcing their new controller with Bluetooth. The elite console comes with ONE controller only, so if you decided to sell the controller you will have to get another one. But still i will go with the elite console just because of the SSHD and the Halo 5.
The controller does come with the carry bag, so there's that. :p

Ended up going the EB deal for the Elite. I love forza and I hear the controller is amazeballs for racing. This deal is certainly worth a + vote though!!
You could have grabbed this one for $250 (provided you have something you spend your $50 voucher on something you would have with or without qualifying for this), and then pick up an Elite controller separately. Ending up with two controllers for only a tad more cash. Of course, you also get the SSHD in the Elite, which I'm sure is nice. Either way, we're all now owners of the 'box'o'X'.

Not really. $299 is still $299 spent. The difference here is that you'll get an extra $50 voucher on top (which will arrive after the purchase).
Agreed, however, if you are going to go out and spend $299 on a new xbox one console anyways, then better off going for this deal. As tempting as this is, I already have a PS4 and no time to play that. Also, I prefer the Halo & Gears of War bundle.

for all those that might be tempted by the xbox one Elite bundle, there have been several reports of the MicroUSB connector not being ideal on the Elite controller. I guess it doesn't mean much if you're gonna sell it, but worth mentioning.

Own an elite controller, can confirm, USB port sucks big time. Figured I will abuse it till the warranty is just about out and take it in for a replacement.
What's wrong with it exactly?
It just seems ultra flakey and poorly designed. It already feels loose and shitty and I am ultra careful with it and I don't let my kids touch this controller. You have to use the cable to recharge it, as my old Energiser batteries that had contacts for their cradle on the bottom just don't fit into the Elite controller.
It's just weird. The rest of the controller is metal, rubber and high grade plastic, yet the USB port looks like an after thought.

It's an annoying novelty. I got a day one Xbox one console, so it came with Kinect. While my 4yo daughter loves playing Raving Rabbids games and dance dance 348, or what ever it's called, the only other use I have is for scanning in DLC content codes without having to type them in. Most of the time you will be in the middle of a multiplayer game and it's getting intense, you tell a team mate something and the Kinect will send you back to desktop and try to open some random app you were never talking about. So,mine gets turned off until the daughter wants to dance again…
TL;DR: unless you have young kids in the house, don't bother. :D

Comments suggest that various eBay reps have given conflicting answers. The former might invalidate the offer so I will be checking my messages after 8 July and asking/complaining about the unclear/unfavourable conditions if I do not receive the $50 redemption voucher code.

JB definitely price matches consoles, I did that when I got my ps4 more than a year ago.
However they have become more strict about it compared to the past, which is why I stopped buying games from JBHifi, was refused price match a couple of times

Good news or bad news?
All fine with mine fortunately - had the Tomb Raider Xbox download pack included - it was sitting next to the Xbox box among some of the air padding - is about the size of a large postcard and is in a sealed plastic envelope - artwork has Tomb Raider on one side, and Rise of the Tomb Raider art on the other. I'm yet to open it to check out the codes but appears legit.
Make sure you check the packaging - don't turf it out without having a quick look among the airbags first in case it has slid in between, or beneath one of the box flaps.
