How much does the burger usually cost? 5.95? I wonder if you can add on a chips and drink for $2 I'm guessing not since it's a special

    • +21

      Normally 2 for 7.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/254579

The coupons are pretty much continuously available. Some stores you just ask for it and no coupons needed at all.

    • +3

Just ask for 2 for $7 at any drive-through & they'll give it to you. No vouchers needed or anything. That deal's been going for over 6 months now, nation-wide.

    • +1

Ha, exactly what I was thinking. What a rip. And with no cheese? How is that even a burger.

  • +5

Cheaper than a snag at the polling booths

    • +4

      Where do you vote? Toorak?
Any more than $2.50 and they can shove it.

      • Sure, but that is 90% sawdust.

  • +9

Saw this on Facebook too. Not really since you can get two for $6.95, but good if you only want one on July 2nd.

  • +1

Could not collect reward as my postcode was invalid. Anyone else getting this issue?

  • +27

But don't the whoppers normally start after the election?

    • +8

      No during,the excuses start after

      • +4

Yes we will get a lot of "excuse me" farts after eating these Election Whoppers

    • +4

      hehe

I like that bloke who held up Malcolm at the train station. Deep down he knew he was right and couldnt say jack shit to argue any different.
All politicians are the same, and its one big jerk around of goin with the flow, the appearance of keeping everyone happy, keeping the country stable-ish and treading water till the next election.

Anyone noticed the quality of Hungry improving? Better fries and less watered down drink.

    • +3

Yea, HJ is the best. Don't forget seeded cheeseburger buns!

      • +3

        They're seeded now? :O

      • +1

you get seeded cheeseburger buns with your HJ? lucky you :)

        • replied to wrong comment hi.

      • +1

Don't forget to add angry onions to whatever you want for 70c!
Also you can add peri peri sauce too to whatever you want for free and it tastes real similiar the oporto peri peri but not as spicy as theirs.

    • better fries yes but I think their meat patties arnt as good, and they look microwaved. Still prefer them over the other company though

      • They've always been microwaved when I've gone to Hungry in Melb.

        • true, last week my whopper had no grill marks though so maybe it was my perception

      • +1

They come out the flame grilled broiler then placed in holding. When a burger is made the bottom bun and meat patty is microwaved.

  • +5

Seems like a more competent choice than the other options in my electorate

    Vote 1 - Whopper

    • +4

Guaranteed to build a better NBN…National Burger Network! ;)

  • +4

Alot of people talking about their new fries and it seems to be damn good. Will give it a try on my next cheat day :)

    • I still prefer Maccas fries, but I do find the new HJ fries a significant improvement from their previous one!

      • +1

I cant find anything any chips in Australia that can beat Nandos peri peri chips. The issue with Maccas fries is every store taste differently due to the way they store and cook their fries, most of the time they just give me burned fries or very cold. Most of my friends like Maccas fries but i just dont like, i think it taste really bad to me.

        • McDonald's make a point of making every store's menu as consistent as possible. This includes handling and cooking the fries the same way.

        • Nandos peri peri chips

Salsa's Mexcrinkle chips are pretty good. Be prepared to wait a good 5+ mins though (at my store anyhow) as they usually have to cook them - but means they're hot and fresh.

        • @danyool: Never heard of them before but i will give them a try asap!

  • +1

    Who is going to win?

    • +6

      Whopper Party Limited

    • +1

      Not ordinary Australians.

  • $4 Turdball…

  • Can it somehow be stacked to get a special price in a meal? I got the drive-through sticker to get Whopper Meal upgraded to large but this deal is for a whopper by itself.

    • +1

      Nah it can't

      • +1

Well it appears that Whopper has not won my vote this time. Looks like I will just have to vote for NOBODY or maybe an actual political party.

      • Wow, you have got an omnipresence with any thing to do with HJ

        • +1

Lol nah I just like to look after my fellow tightarses with the stuff I know more about!

        • +1

          @Food: We appreciate it

    • Oops turns out it could be. We had no clue it could be, my apologies. You still have at least 30mins to go and devour one though ;)

  • +5

Remember the good old days about four years ago when you could get a whopper and small fries for $2 :)

    • +3

      40*??

    • Whopper jnr?

  • -7

I'm genuinely am sure this is not a deal. You can use the coupons and get TWO whoppers for 6.95. $4 for one whopper without chips or a drink is definitely not a deal.

    • +4

Can you find it cheaper for only one whoppers? Not everyone want TWO!

    • It might not be a great deal, but it still is a deal, not worth the neg.

    • +1

I'm with you mate, not a stellar deal, it's more to sound special in their TV ads than any genuine value. I'm sure that the TV ads will be effective in selling plenty of Whoppers on July 2 though.

  • I get plenty of shake and win 2 for 1 whoppers, so two for $6.

    • +6

My girl's got plenty of shake but she only gets 1 whopper.

      • more like a whopper jnr

  • +2

Its not a bad idea. Cant do any worse than our current options. If it is a bad prime minister we can eat it and have another election.

  • Better off using vouchers. 2 whoppers for $6.95

  • +1

There a catch … You have to vote whoppers, otherwise you miss out

You’ve just missed out on the instant reward of voting for Whopper®. Fortunately, in this election, you get a second chance.

  • They increase the price for Medium coffee. :(

  • +1

I hope they put a liberal amount of sauce on the burger so I don't have to labour so hard to get it out later than night.

  • I am very confident the whopper will have a majority of the house. The postal votes will be counted on Tuesday.
