Seems like a decent deal for the spec- it's 15.6 better than massive 17inch on Ideapad 700 (another deal is live for ideapad 700)

Not full HD no deal, sad that with no FHD with this spec.
is the screen cost that much more to manufacture?
no, but if they offer FHD at a cost proportional to the different with 768P, how are they going to sell laptops at $1200?
It's a pricing strategy. But yes, it sucks. I would no longer buy a laptop with this resolution.BTW, I didn't neg you. It's a valid criticism, though most laptops at this price points are like that.
Dunno why the hell anyone negged you for that. Valid criticism, anything below 1080p on a 15" screen is just not worth it these days. Certainly not for that price. Neg countered :)
Where can I get a Core i7 laptop with 8gb RAM and a FHD/1080p 15.6" screen for under $850?
Did you choose $850 as the benchmark because I posted one below for $879?
@Coley: Because the posted laptop is $846 perhaps?
If want FHD around this price point, try this.

Change the Win 7 Pro install to Windows 10 home and its only $879. Much the same specs except the AMD R7 graphics.
Which gpu is better?
Ideapad is a good GPU. E560 is a useless GPU.
I bought a E560, and the arrow keys were flaky. Another person on Whirlpool had the same problem. Might be a Windows 10 issue?
dayum only if the screen were better tho hahas.
Why not just say HD rather than 768p, seems that's what all makers usually say for this res screen.
Because FHD is also HD (but not always vice-versa). HD is an imprecise and often incorrectly used term. I'd rather know the exact resolution.
