  • ipv6 enabled ? how much for extra ipv4. say a /27

    • We have a heap of IPv6 laying around- It wouldn't take much to get it going on your machine for you if that's what you want.

I am not sure if we have a /27 spare- Ill need to check- Sunday night isnt the time. If not we can provide 32 extra IPv4 addresses for $1/pm each.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] and ill look into the /27 for you tomorrow.

Anything much smaller/slower and much cheaper? I'd be fine with 500MHz and 256MB RAM as a VPS.

  • It says 'Unlimited Outbound Data'.

Just confirming, you would have no problem with me uploading a 8GB file onto my server (which, the outbound from my server should be included) and then sharing that with the world?

Considering using this as a file server for my company…

    • Due to the way TCP is implemented, it is not possible to have unlimited out-bound without using in-bound data. On our servers serving static small images, the ingress:egress ratio is around 1:8. If you are serving large files the ratio might be a bit bigger, but with 200GB included in-bound, you won't really have unlimited out-bound.

    • Sure thing!

As Scotty said your limits will exist and you will be limited by your inbound data to some extent however will pull the vast majority of inbound data from peering networks which are also unlimited- So whilst Scotty is technically correct when it comes to smaller file sizes once we are taking about 8Gb files with requests coming from peer networks it is a very different story.

For example we have users doing over 10Tb per month in outbound without hitting the 200Gb inbound cap- I am not saying that is possible in every case but I am yet to see someone hosting files use all of there inbound.
