  • IBuyGOU - any idea what GOU is.

Always love a bargain but would mind to know what the worldwide guarantee means.

    • Gou = purchase. Well, it depends on the context but I've always read the name of that website as "love buy buy". Because "I" sounds like "love" in Chinese. Just a guess.

    • Good on u

Good device if you are a Cyanogenmod fan. Unofficial ROM is fully functional and Office development is already underway.

    • @sylon Just wondering how that github shows official development for the redmi note 3 pro?
I am guessing Kenzo is the name of the device and that GitHub page is only used for official working of CM?

I don't really know much about how CM put together official releases so sorry for my ignorance.

      • kenzo is the code name for Redmi Note 3 Pro (Snapdragon).

Also rep is the ROM the chinese or global variant?

Does it come with Google Play Store?

    • Doesn't really matter. If it's the chinese then just flash the global variant which has Google. In fact you almost want the chinese one as it comes with an unlocked bootloader, so you can flash easily.

      • Thanks Spec, so then I guess I would want the Chinese but hoping the rep lets me know.

        • Well you'll know if it's still factory sealed, and when you boot it up if it has Google Services or not ;)

If it isn't bootlocked you can easily flash a global rom.

          Using Rom from here: http://en.miui.com/download-301.html
Follow the Fastboot Update steps: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html

And when you use the flashing program, make sure you select "Flash all". That will wipe EVERYTHING. Make sure you don't have your SD card in. You don't have to worry about any vendor installed malware then, if that is a concern. If it is bootlocked the flash tool will tell you and it won't do anything. I recently tried on my phone which is bootlocked, so I know it doesn't work or hurt if it's bootlocked. Going to have to request the unlock code from Xiaomi.

    • It come with China Stable, but easily can be flashed with OTA Global ROM for locked bootloader :)

    dual sim cards?

    • +1

Yes. Hybrid though. You can't have 2 sims + microSD. It's either 2 sims or 1 sim + 1 microSD

    • Be careful with the dual sim option. The second one is limited to 2G, which Telstra and Optus are going to discontinue soon (December 2016 for Telstra, and March 2017 for Optus). I own this phone, it's a bit of disappointment.

      • There are some tutorials how to make 2 sims + 1 microSD. If you are patient and have some skills, you will be able to do that by yourself :)

        • There's also been lots of people reporting doing that then getting their tray stuck and it also damaging their phone. Just because you technically can, doesn't mean you should.

          You CAN drink petrol……

But if you're willing to try, have fun!

  • Actually… altomic is right… why not get this one? http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Original-Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-3-…

    total is 196.06 USD

    • Good reviews too

Wish somewhere in Australia supplied these. Need to buy quite a few but with an Australian tax invoice.

  • Does this phone come with the offical global rom that supports OTA updates?

    Thank you.

    • It come with China Stable ROM, but you can easily flash Global Rom with OTA for locked bootloader :)
