    meh

  • Anyone - comments on myus pricing?

I'm yet to use a shipping forwarder but I've been needing to

    • especially with new PC hardware coming out

      • MYUS.COM is expensive. I have them at the moment. Will cancel them soon before my renewal comes.

It's not that clear whether they will waive the membership free for a year or not.

Overall, it's no longer worth it.

        • Can you please list out some prices so it can be compared? Thank you.

          @wildstone:

Currently my plan is USD$84 pa. If you are new, that's another USD$20.

Their discount is 20% of the shipping cost.

Shipito cost is USD$50 but I don't have experience with them. Some of Ozbs can probably help.

However, this deal apparently includes one year free so you could try with them for one year and cancel.

MyUS.Com has this freight simulator. https://www.myus.com/pricing/calculate-shipping/

Give it a try but I think for 5 kgs at USD 114 is pricey including discount of 20%. This deal has 30% for one year so another 10% off.

        • @burningrage:

Yeah expensive… and they don't seem to offer economy shipping methods. Other forwarder seems to have that.

  • After seeing Four Corners a few weeks ago about how dodgy a lot of US vitamins are (and for all I know - Australian), I dunno if I'd want to buy any from there.

  • Sorry, new to this card, do they give an appalling rate to cover the international fees and charges?

    • +1

I've used them overseas plenty times and found their rates OK… could do worse than what some Banks charge. You'll find they are very popular here.

      • As far as I know they don't charge international fees. That's one of the attractions of it.

  • MYUS basic membership for half a kilo parcel was around A$66. I ordered a Fire TV and controller and that is what cost me to get it here.

  • The basic plan is free.

Not a fan of these offers, but I use this card as my default for Amazon, great exchange rates and no conversion fees.

Standard MasterCard exchange rates, no overhead.

Their fraud protection and service are excellent.

US is not the best value now, great for other countries such as Spotify in Malaysia.

    • Scratch last comment the card no longer works with Spotify new subscriptions, closed that loophole

  • For strawberrynet, the discount cannot be used in conjunction with your loyalty/quantity discounts.
