  • Is it in the ebay shop for another 20% off??

    • It is..
      it's advertised as $100..
      less 20% = $80..
but then add $10 postage for a grand total of $90.

Deal has been updated since I posted my comment. It initially linked to BCF web site.

That one is listed as 6.1/5.4kg. I hope the BCF version is not too flimsy. Its light for the size of the tent.

3.65 x 2.1 metres! Some error on the weight??

This is a tent meant to be carried in a hiking backpack. Even 3.6kg gets heavy carrying it all day.
If you are not hiking, I wouldn't recommend a hiking tent. Better to buy a full size more durable one.

    • I was thinking the same…

Got one! Its good. Actual total weight is 3.7kg.

1kg heavier than my old hiking tent, but much roomier. Ideally shared between two.
Heaps of room for two blokes and all your gear in the vestibule.

Took 15 minutes for first assemble, guessing 10 minutes next time.
Not as easy as a simple two-pole clip-on dome, of course.
Poles go in the outer, with a clip-in inner layer, rather than poles in the inner, with a flysheet.
Can be freestanding in fine weather, but you'll want the pegs in wet weather, and guy ropes if windy.

It is polyester, not nylon, which would be an issue at $399, but it is a bargain at $80.
Assuming it passes the rain test - up in the back yard with a few towels inside.

      • This weekend will be a good test if you are in Sydney

  • A tent of this type is hard to set up

No need to neg yurias. Its not the easiest style of tent, but the result is quite strong in bad weather.

  • Will it be a good replacement for my $10 0.5kg tent? 3.5kg's gets heavy pretty quick

    • Camping under a cheap tarpaulin gets tired very quick.

  • +1

Tent stayed dry in last night's wet weather with kids inside.

    Highly recommended bargain!

Just be aware that aluminium pegs bend easily, so replace at least some with steel pegs.
Still available, and stores showing out of stock on eBay may still have them, so ask.

    • Thanks for the feedback! Mines in the post.

      • Thank you.

Bought one anyway… is 3.5kg's junk tent? I've seen under 1kg but $k's

    • Have you set it up yet ? If so how was it?
