FOX DHX2 Factory 2023 in 210x55 $399 (Was $1125) Delivered @ Fox Factory

500

Great price for someone looking for a coil upgrade to your trail bike (* trail bike being the segment name for mid travel mountain bikes, circa 120 - 150mm rear travel).
MTB shocks are sized with two numbers, the total eye to eye length and the stroke length. This is for the 210mm (eye to eye) x 55mm (stroke). Other sizes are available but prices vary. Generally each bike can only use a specific size. Make sure you get the correct size for your bike. Also, the coil spring is sold separately as they are in different weights to suit different ride weights and suspension layouts.

This is directly from Fox Australia and my understanding is they are very good with warranty.

Note: Springs are not included with coil shock.

Good price, it's amazing how many people change bikes/shocks before playing around with volume spacers/tokens in their air shocks. Also investigate hiring/buying a ShockWiz to get feedback on your current settings.

  • holy shit thats amazing prices. wish i had a mtb to use this for

    Great deal!

Depending on what size you need, Jonny Sprockets has a couple different options at similar pricing. Have purchased from them before and always been easy and fast shipping.

They’ve also got up to 60% off forks including the new 2024 Fox Step and Taper cast.

    • Yep have bought from JS before. Fantastic service and great prices.

  • worth upgrade for polygon T7 or overkill?

What’s currently on it? Unless you’re a fairly decent rider I’d say you’re better off saving the money and upgrading the whole bike later on if it’s something you’re enjoying.

FWIW Polygon (and Marin) sold by bikes online are actually very decent spec already for the price when it comes to components.

    • it's an interesting question, having a balanced suspension front and rear is really important, so depending on what you have up front will make a big difference. Its worth spending time tweaking what you have before spending more like what scratchy says above with volume spacers, air pressure etc.

the upgrade game on a budget bike can very quickly cost you - and the cheaper the RRP on the bike the harder it is to get your money back when you sell, unless you keep all the parts - which may or may not fit your next bike, esp. as rear shock lengths vary widely.

crazy price for the shock though, I run one on my nukeproof mega and love it, esp. with a sprindex :)
