    wow 2 heads, I'd be a happy man with just one…. ;p

    • As they say 2 heads are better than one - even though I'm pretty sure that saying is for something else.

But these are quite basic and crappy right? Buy for kids?

    • I plan on using them in Indonesia. They're a step up from normal toothbrushes, but the technology behind these is similar to what we had a decade ago.

    • The Shavers shop has been selling them for about $27. They are okay but the battery life degrade very quickly though. Used to last for 5 days when new but only last a couple of days after 5 months. I suspect it will be thrashed in a year or so.

      • They are use Ni-Cd battery, hopefully next gen will be Ni-li battery

      • IMHO believe these are ok as a basic unit. The floss head unit is usually slightly more expensive.
Some years ago you could buy the handle, which is nearly the whole unit as a spare part from dept stores like DJ's for apx $10. Wonder what the warranty & supply of spares is like today?

      • A Ni-Cd battery will degrade quite quickly if you leave it on charge all the time. That's not a fault, that's how Ni-Cd batteries work.

Turn the charger off except when the toothbrush has actually run flat, then charge it fully and turn the charger off again.

It's not a fault, shittt battery life is a "feature"

quite basic? what else do you need it to do, take your kids to school?

  • These come with 2 heads like born and raised Tasmanians

  • anyone knows how it compare to oral b 500 series?

    • The professional care series starts with a basic unit as well.
IMHO aside from any special user need, either basic unit is capable of doing a great job.
Important to ensure the brush head is maintained in good condition, don't press against your teeth too hard & do replace the head when required. Are cheaper Ebay replacement heads as good as original Braun? Also research toothpaste.
IMHO a $1 normal toothbrush used in the proper manner with baking soda instead of toothpaste will give your teeth the same plaque free clean feeling.
Do you drive an automatic or manual car? Both get you there, it's how you service and operate the machinery.

  • how much are re-fills? I'm thinking it's more cost-effective to just get a new unit at $20

  • I've just won a Colgate omron c350 via a work-related thing. Does anyone know if it's better than my current oral-b pro 500? Can't be bothered driving all the way to sandy to pick it up.

    Thanks.

I got a C250 (I think the 250 and 350 models are pretty much the same feature-wise, just different handles) and I like it better than the Braun/OralB brushes I've been using since forever. Instead of rotating the brush (which apparently causes gum problems for some folks eventually), these ones vibrate the brush head in two different directions. It's worth the trip to pick it up, fo sho.

        • shrug… if you feel inclined to try one, keep an eye on Coles… they're regularly doing the 150, 250 and 350 models for half price these days
