My doctor told me not to add salt as it will undo the health benefits of regularly swimming.

    • But you need it as protection from crabs which may be present in the water, better be safe son

your pool doctor will say otherwise.
I doubt your doctor knows anything about maintaining a swimming pool! if your pool turn green or black, it'll do more benefit to his/her wealth…
why are those trying to advise things they know nothing about?

      • My GP just said salt is will make my blood pressure worse. It also applies to salt on food. I always crave salty hot chips after swimming but I have had to give that up too.

I really hope you're not serious.

A salt-chlorinated pool is a low-chlorine pool, and still 1/10th the salinity of the sea. If your health is so insanely bad, that your ticker will fail from swimming in that water… then you should be looking for a funeral plan - Or a real doctor.

        • @Utopian: its about preventing problems. Salt causes high blood pressure which causes strokes.

        • @Gimli: By swimming in weak doses of it, at the threshold of human taste… No.

  • Cheaper than table salt. Maybe i should switch

  • MUST better deal at ALDI - But that's if it's still stocked.

    $2.99 for 25KG

    • ?MUST

      • *"Much"

You couldn't figure it out? Oh-no!

I'm starting to think the Dr. story was made-up.

        • Lol in retrospect it's obvious

  • OK so this might be a stupid question. But moved into a rental with a (my first) Dishwasher. Which I have no manual for.. but was told by someone you occasionally need to put salt into it somewhere for cleaning… would this suit the purpose?

    • 10kg might be too much.

But more seriously the salt is I think for places with hard water. Unless you are from adelaide you probably don't need it.

    • Dish washer tablets/liquid when washing dishes. Leave door open to prevent smells. Clean water filter / waste trapper
