I bought one of these BP monitors from aliexpress for US$14.71 delivered. it was used extensively and tested against professional machines in a hospital and was 99% accurate (a difference of 1% is nothing). From experience I recommend one of these.

    • Nothing is 99% accurate, in the sense that the act of measuring blood pressure has a far bigger impact, and pressure is highly variable.

      • I agree.

my meaning was I tested the device in hospital next to hospital BP machines and the results were so similar - i.e. expensive hospital professional/industrial device Vs inexpensive device

and my "patient" had been a practising nurse and had a long, intensive and extensive medical history of ongoing active medical treatment so any psychosomatic manifestations would be extremely minimal.

        • I agree too :) Understood, and just adding that they don't even need to be as accurate as they are.

Wrist blood pressure monitors are notoriously unreliable

These (sanita is a generic) are $15 to $20 on eBay. Bad price.

  • Not sure why I got voted down for stating that wrist meters are unreliable. Just google it yourselves.

Not a valid reason to neg mate.

      • i hadn't negged actually. I did that just now.

These need to be re-calibrated very often, also BP at the wrist is not a great indicator, even when holding it at heart level.

Yeah thats what i said about them being unreliable and got negged. Probably a bunch of people justifying their purchase i guess.
