  • Any chance you can wear that, and get it to automatically take readings at intervals over 24 hrs?

    Would be very valuable.

    • perhaps a samsung watch7/ultra. they can take blood pressure readings. however you will need a bp monitor to calibrate it for first use. also not sure now accurate the watchs are at taking reading

I have a Samsung watch. The BP reading is a useless gimmick, having tested it.

Pairs well with $1 Wicked Wings deal at KFC.

So the OP is putting it up as a bargain just because someone is selling it a bit cheaper than RRP, even though they have no idea whether its a good product or complete rubbish, and can't find any information on whether it is or isn't.

Junk is not a bargain at any price. Something is only a bargain if its worth the price.

I measure my blood pressure with a wrist unit. Its from a name brand manufacturer with a good reputation. In fact the same brand as the units most GPs use. Because it goes around the wrist it may not produce highly accurate readings, but they are indicative enough that they tell you whether you have a problem that you need to be consulting your GP about. And because it goes around the wrist it is far smaller and more convenient than the units that go around the upper arm. After using it I wouldn't go back to an upper arm unit.

And the next advance in blood pressure measuring technology won't go back in that direction either, it'll involve smart watches figuring out how to measure those things, do it non-invasively, do it accurately, and do it continuously. Both Apple and Samsung are getting there. Watch this space.

Most units this price do similar to what you said or even better. However, this seems a common price and is $121.60 at Amazon

      • Thats international stock. I think these should be brought locally then taken to gp and get it tested to see if its accurate. If not go back and return it.

    • I put it out there because it is a good deal maybe someone else has had experience in using it could give us all feedback as to whether its good or not. Its a bargian i can belong here thanks.

    • Blood pressure monitors can be out of calibration. Easy returns to jbhifi if its giving to high or low readings.

      • but how would you know it is too high or too low unless you have a second one?

        • Need to go to gp and test against there machines.

  • Use OMRON brand if you want accurate readings

  • If you're willing to stretch your budget further, i recommend a Welch Allyn ProBP 2000. My gp uses it so figured it's accurate. Also read some reviews before buying it and someone said their cardiologist uses it.

  • I heard the Withings one was good.

  • The Omron my GP uses cost $800 + and last time I tried to find it I couldn't find it any where…. How do you calibrate them any way ? I have a cheap Omron and I have no idea how accurate it is. I have always felt BP is a bit of a moving target as it changes all the time any way.

    • Yer i think the best you can do is reference off gp and i think if you have omron they can calibrate it.

    • BP is a bit of a moving target as it changes all the time any way

That is the case. There isn't any point to a precisely accurate "home" BP measurement because blood pressure depends on whether you've had a cup of coffee, whether you've just been walking quickly, whether you were talking, whether the TV program you are watching is exciting, and so many other things.

I know my OMRON wrist unit is accurate enough because I take it with me when I go to my GP, and we do readings one after another on mine on one wrist and hers on the other upper arm. They're never exactly the same reading. But if we took two reading on hers 5 minutes apart we'd get different readings. That's what blood pressure does.

  • I've got this and it's great.
    Battery life lasts a month.

I took it to the doctor and compared readings and this was reading 10% higher than the doctors one.

She said that's expected with the cuff style compared to theirs.

Easy to sync via Bluetooth plus it keeps all readings stored on the device. Simple export to CSV or pdf from the app
