So why?
this Asus piece of shit is 1,366 x 768p… that says it all.
If that is better why he regret?
Brand. Pendo isnt as good a brand as Asus.
It's also from Dick Smith, that's why.
Is the RAM a SIMM in a slot, or soldered? I.e. can it be upgraded, anybody know?
Mostly likely soldered. I've haven't seen a cherrytrail board with DIMMs yet, it's usually braswell or whatever those celeron/pentium boxes are called.
On top of the the specs mention "onboard RAM" and this guy anecdotally confirms it: https://youtu.be/KUb9q4CYOdY?t=76.
Can't find any hard evidence though but I'd put my money on there being no upgradability.yeah, with the way these are made down to a size, weight, and price, I can't see how they could fit slots in there.
The Good Guys has the equivalent HP same price too and same specs
Cheaper here by a $1:

Very Similar to the X205TA which is an excellent laptop (using one now) but a bit faster.
This was $238 at Harvey Norman last week. Not much of a bargain.
Posted here? I cannot recall such a bargain before. I am using the Asus X205TA it is a good netbook enough for daily Internet browsing and good battery life.
It was on sale for $238 during this sale last week:

Most people just looked at the Lenovo for $218, but there were quite a few other laptops heavily discounted that were overlooked.
I actually bought the last one in stock at my local HN.
OK must be this one.

My X205TA only cost me $199 and I am happy with it :)
You found and bought the last one?? Ok I get that but come up with an other one that's at least as cheap or cheaper with the same spec or better if you're gunna neg this otherwise this is the best around for this price
13 hours battery life? can anyone report on normal, everyday person using it, web browsing, playing music at the same time, comfortable medium brightness etc? Does it get close to 6 hours even?

Not bad for the price.
I'm starting to regret buying my Pendo x360 Flip for $285 now. But it's got an FHD IPS touch display and this doesn't…
