I saw this a few days ago. However can't find any reliable reviews for the service

    • Thanks for that information EC.

I'm already wary of Getflix, so I wouldn't touch a service like this which is much smaller.

The selling of services with one payment for "life" is not a good sustainable business model, I would be wary.

    • Getflix has been running a similar sale for ~12 months now
Probably if you're going to run a similar business, you need to attempt to compete with their plan

    • Why be wary? The one payment is similar to many subscription payments at other providers.

  • Has getflix any deals on 12 months as looking to sign up they say april40 but that expired few weeks back not interested in signing up unless they do a deal as they often have deals.

  • Sounds like the sun is setting on Netflix geo dodging. I just cancelled my US Netflix account last month after giving up on Getflix's ability to get around their crackdown. I just signed up again through Australian Netflix (an ironically streamlined process where they clearly recognise you as a former geododger and make the switch to Aussie pricing happen smoothly while retaining your existing viewer profiles). I hear that all new Netflix accounts are tagged by default so I recognise that I'll likely never be able to geododge through Netflix again, and frankly it's a relief. I signed up with Netflix in the first place to simplify my life and go legal, and with the crackdown and the game of cat and mouse Getflix is playing, it no longer satisfies either of those goals for me.

We still use Getflix for Hulu but I figure it's only a matter of time until they crack down on that too, given that Netflix has shown it can be done easily enough. The rights holders are sure to come knocking on Hulu's doors again.

Stan has been a great addition to the stable. With the content available between Netflix Australia and Stan I think I'll be happy enough to see Hulu go away. I'd rather pay my subscription to an Australian company anyway.

    • I'm not sure what the 'tagging' of a new account involves or is meant to impact?? From when I last looked a their terms you could use their accounts wherever you wanted. E.G. I have an Aussie account but when I'm in Spain I can still watch NetFlix albeit the Spanish one. So 'geododging' should still work providing my traffic proxying isn't detected. (e.g. should I VPN to a mates house over there to I'm just accessing via a local residential IP).

So what is this tagging doing? Are they removing the ability to watch Netflix when you're on holiday or something now? I've not had any notification of this (yet). It's a big enough policy change I'd have expected an email.
