Great price for scales that weigh that high. Now I just have to lose a couple of kilos so I can use it :D

Just buy one for each foot and a Calculator from Officeworks

      • +2

I think there may be a problem in getting on and off the scales then. And since these cheap ones are made of glass, you don't want them to crack.

Best to get an industrial grade scale.

        • +4

Sit on a chair and place the scales near your feet. Then stand up from the chair while placing one foot on each scale.

        • @trev likes bargains:why not just put one on top of the other?

        • @fm:
Because you will need to get off the scale to read the bottom one.

        • @fm: I think this won't double the weight limit of the scale.

    • Ha?

  • Sweet, just bought it :D I was contemplating getting a smart scale for a while but I realised there really isn't a point haha thanks OP!

Cell powered battery are atrocious to use. They won't last as long as those powered by AAC battery.

    • +2

Then again, the card of 8 CR2032 batteries that was $2 at Ikea was languishing a little waiting for all the BIOS batteries to die.

    •  They won't last as long as those powered by AAC battery

No, however it doesnt matter because the battery will probably last longer than the scales.

Over the past 20 years I have owned quite a few sets of scales with button cells in them, and I have never needed to change batteries.

I have some kitchen scales that I found on the side of the road and cleaned up for use as postage scales. I reckon I've used those for almost 10 years and never changed batteries in them.

  • Brilliant deal. I had dragged the old metal ones outside to WD40 them, so they still worked provided I jumped hard on them first, but I was beginning to doubt their reliability.

  • Had got this iN last special for parents but its not working well…stopped functioning within weeks. Anyone else has similar feedback?

  • If HN run out, Joyce mayne has them at the same price, though Nowra is a little far for me to collect. The site is totally different, with a blue "buy now" bar rather than a red one.

I have scales like this bought from Woolies, the CR2032 battery is REALLY difficult to remove. Pissed me off everytime I have to replace the battery.

It's also extremely finnicky to use, you'd step on it and it won't switch on, requiring several stomps before it measures.

Just in time for mother's day.

That 1 person who negged me doesn't understand humour

      • +2

Or perhaps because they do ;)

        • +2

          No I don't

2 negs - bolding suggests people wouldn't get it otherwise.

        • Similar, for being a tosser

  • Same one that's regularly on sale? Had mine for a few years and it's still on its original batteries. Happy with it for the price

    • Same. They're pretty decent

  • Thanks Op. Bought one. Very happy with the price.

Have been using this one for about a year but I think it's defective as my weight keeps going up..

    • +1

Maybe it's the other OzBargain offers for food you're taking up. :)

      • the week's supply of (free) Domino's pizza maybe

        • yeh could be the damn dominos

  • Are any LCDs greater than 180kg. I think you would have trouble fitting it in the scale if it was that heavy anyways.

    • Rare to find them sold in Australia but there is the MyWeigh XL-550 that goes to 250kg. Can find it on amazon/eBay and a couple of local vendors that have an absurd markup ($60 shipped vs about $200 local).

It'll definitely fit someone big - and it has a talking readout in case the display is out of sight.

      • A talking display could be very embarrassing if anyone is within earshot. ;)

  • Fluctuates between $9 and $19 quite regularly.

  • If i weigh 250kg, can i buy two of these and stand on one leg on each?

    • If you can stand on both at the exact same time otherwise if one scale takes your 250kg weight first will break before the other shares half of the 250kg.

      • Guess a load balancer is needed, haha.

Digital glass scales are a gimmick.

The corners are sharp. So you need to keep it away from kids.

They break into tiny shards when dropped. Again, not safe around kids.

They never seem to work when you need them. And I don't know about this one but double tapping is annoying.

  • Does it run off Eneloops?

    • Why bother? A thing like this would hardly draw any current. I've got some retired (did heavy duty elsewhere) alkalines in my kitchen scale and they've been going for a couple of years.

Yes I know it was meant to be a joke.

  • mine one broken after 3 months. did not bother to bring back for exchange

  • lol my mate told me to STAY AWAY from this one..

    • I told you stay away from your mate.

      • he said you are not legit :o haha

        • I said he is not true Ozbargainer.

        • @monty.melb: lol we both spent heaps and can't thank OzBargain enough for the great deals…Although it's just 9 bucks I could save it to buy something else.

        • @sauce2k: I hope your mate is not jv

        • @monty.melb: haha I just stated the obvious :)

      • haha m8 great deal but apparently it breaks easily and the last thing I want is a shattered glass in my bathroom.
