  • So, is it worth getting vs other models? I'm in no hurry.

    • +1

Depends on what you want it to do.

If you want to pick up a lot of hair especially longer then no.

but if you just wanting to picking up simple dirt and dust and clean inside the car here and there, then yes.

      • Thanks. I'll wait.

Looking for a long hair vacuum. And something good enough to handle cleaning for a baby/toddler environment.

        • +1

What time of floors do you have or plan on using one on?

        • @cortex21:

          Carpet and floorboards

        • +1

          @justtoreply:

As long as the floorboards are not too delicatee, V6, V6 Animal and V6 absolute are your options.

  • We are after a Dyson handstick for hard floors is this a decent model or should I was for v6 deal?

    • Do you only have just hard floors? What type of hard floors as well. What about rugs?

      • Hey bro..I have both hard floors and carpet… I have used Dyson with the carpet thingy before at my brothers and I know it is awesome… But can't afford it…any cheaper substitute model available below $300? This one with the attachment should do well as well I guess.

        • If you don't have pets in the house or only just vacuuming small amount of hair like in the bathroom, this would suffice.
If you can push your budget to be a little bit higher, I recommend getting V6 HS when its below $400

        • @cortex21: Thanks a lot buddy… Is hand-stick good enough for a 2 bed 2 bath hk (split level) though? Or should I go for a barrel.

        • +1

          @vchan:

For that size yes, though keep in mind you do have to empty a few times compared to a barrel as technically they are marketed and designed as spot cleaning vacuums, and to work with a barrel not replace one.

  • The DC45 has been cheaper in the past and is going to be superseded by a new model.

    • What's the cheapest you have ever seen. Looking to buy one now at the right price. The cheapest that i have ever seen is this but no Master near my location.

      • V6 for a touch over 300.

This one is older, presumably less powerful model.
        V6 Superseded the DC59 model

        • Techically V6 = DC59, aesthetic looks is just the difference.

        • @cortex21l:
          Yep.
So the DC59 is above the DC45.

Recently V6 been around very low $300`s….

        • @albanyson:

That is correct. Well, more mid $300's like $349, never seen it lower than that yet that doesn't involve cashback or other forms of redemptions ( I work for Dyson).

        • @cortex21:
I bought V6 recently for something like 315?? I think, delivered to WA……
          EBay 20% sale

Have to go check that now….

        • @albanyson:

Oh an online discounts like that too :p
I mean price wise in stores, but kudos to you for getting it that cheap!

        • @cortex21:
After that, the v6 absolute was on offer for just a tad over 500.
Now that was what I should have waited a little longer for?

        • @albanyson:

If you had the budget for it and absolutely need the extra pick up performance then yeah as it is normally $899 RRP.

        • @cortex21:
The Hepa filter and extra floor tools would have been the selling point I would have paid extra for.
I paid 450 for my girlfriends DC59 animal back in Sept 2014.

        • @albanyson:

And it is also slightly quieter than the rest.
but yeah from what you have told me, you could have afforded that. I don't expect that price to be close to that again until maybe June/July for the half yearly sale.

        • @cortex21:
Think Ive done my Dyson buying for a few years now…… 😇

        • @albanyson:

From what you have told me, you will love what Dyson will be releasing next, spoilers are on other Dyson country websites :)

        • @cortex21:
Pity the fans don't get such a good review too.
I been turned off by the negative comments on the fans.

        • @albanyson: What negatives have you heard, happy to explain them in a non-biase way as much as possible.

        • @albanyson:

Lol, don't even remember replying to the first link post.

But yes, personally the AM05 was far from perfect and I believe the AM09 improves pretty much everything that I read negative on the first link's comments.

          • quieter
          • has precise focus
          • more energy efficient

But yes, it is pricey, so suggest to wait until there's a sale for them, haven't seen them under $500 yet.

The older fans of Dyson in all weren't perfect but still did a good job to an extent. People just expect them to be portable AC's at their height of their prices.

  • Yeah it's coming down in price, even $345 in Myer.

As soon as I see one for the 250 mark or under I'll grab it, at 300 I just can't justify it for a hoover!

  • The Good Guys have the DC45 for $297.
I have ordered from Masters because I have to go there anyway to collect my eneloop order.

  • Merged from Dyson DC45 $299 @ Masters ($263.41 with Click and Collect)

    • +1

      It's $298 at HN with a $20 gift card

I wanted to pick up one of these while they're cheap but they seem to go on sale all the time

      • Probably because new V8 model is coming out.

    • $297 at JB, no deal.
