Really ramping up the "how much will people pay for these stupid robo vacs" strategy.
not stupid, but I do agree with the "how much will people pay" bit
As much as I really like robo vacs, I agree these prices are getting out of control.
It is a lot of money and definitely expensive.
It's also one of the only models that can clear the 3cm threshold to my bathroom and kitchen allowing it to clean the whole house.
For me, even at 3 times what it costs in China, 2500 for at least 3 years of automated vacuuming and mopping is worth it. Definitely a step up from the 300 dollar Coredy model I got from Kogan 4 years ago.
I can also use the separate mop for my attic which makes the deal worth it for me.
Definitely cleaning robots will get more expensive. There is demand.
Here's an interesting excerpt from chat gpt.
"Home cleaning robots that can vacuum, mop, and self-maintain are already available for $1,500–$3,500 AUD. Within the next 5–10 years (by 2030–2035), we can expect advanced robots that can wipe surfaces and do basic bathroom/kitchen cleaning, likely priced around $5,000–$10,000 AUD. A fully automated cleaning robot capable of scrubbing sinks, showers, and toilets efficiently will probably take 10–15 years (by 2035–2040), with early models potentially costing $15,000–$30,000 AUD. Over time, prices should drop as the technology matures and production scales up."
Is this even a deal?
Wtf?
You’d think for that sort of money it would support 5ghz.
Constantly trying to offload those flex stick vacs too.
765AUD in China actually. And it was the old type.
Wait China sells this for $765? Really?! Have you got a link?

The newest type is G30 PRO ULTRA in China, maybe it will be named the S9 Maxv Ultra in Australia.
So this would work in Australia?
@nightelves: In theory the app will be locked, but you can still have it do the sweeping automatically by using the buttons on the machine. It's just that a lot of the controls on the app don't work, which is a real bummer.
@Ash Dune: Apparently someone found a solution i. this post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/844119
@nightelves: Yeah, I know that way. Because my friend is using an S8 MAXV in a similar way. but by doing that you don't get the manufacturer's warranty policy and you always have to turn on a fake router at home to make the robot think it's in China. LOL
@nightelves: What I can tell you is that I bought a Ecovacs T50 PRO in China but it had broken after less than 2 months. Still trying to figure out how to ship it back for repairs. And went to Costco to buy an Australian model Roborock. I think local warranty is a very important thing for Robovacs, don't try to save a little bit of money and end up with more hassle.
@Ash Dune: It's not a little bit… He can buy another one when the first one breaks. Still cheaper than in Australia.
@yabol: Even if it last a year, this model will be $1000 cheaper by then anyway so even if he buys a local one then, he will still break even in worst case scenario
moving forward, there must be place in laundry to store robo vacuum and connect water in and out.
Honestly the standards are so much higher now that you're better off waiting for this to become the "entry level" model in a few years.
I just bought a Q Revo for less than I paid for an S7 Plus 4 years ago and it is so much better.
