not much of a bargain in my opinion

  • "1 TB of high-performing, eco-friendly digital storage"?

    maybe 500GB…
decent price for the faster spin speed

    do I get 1TB or half a TB? I'll buy 4 if its 1TB for $52 each!

    • you can me both :D
I'm sure the feature part was just copy&pasted from 1TB HDDs though.

  • Getting a 500GB drive is usually $55-$60.

There's a saving to be had here, but only if you were on the look out for a 500GB 3.5" internal drive… which virtually no-one in their right mind is.

    • I would have thought this would be a good upgrade for the PS3 ?

okay , now i realise it is a 2.5 for the ps3 lol amazing what a google search will tell you

    • Err.. most people don't even use 50gig let alone 500…

      • There's more to it that sheer capacity.

Bigger drives are also generally faster.

  • What is with these RTB warranties, is there no manufactures warranty?

    • RTB means return to base, as in not onsite warranty. Return to manufacturer or store of purchase.

    • RTB is just the store stating how long they will guarantee the item for. It just means the minimum time though not that maximum as that is for the Trade Practices Act/ACCC to decide.

You still get manufacturers guarantee plus whatever the ACCC/Trade Practices Act says that item should reasonably last for.

  • Not much of a bargain.

Not a bargain, there are many 500GB internal hard drives that are very close to this price, such as http://www.itestate.com.au/pages/product/pdt_product_detail.… and http://shop.mcgtech.com.au/hard-drive/3-5-and-quot-sata-hdd/…. You can also get 1TB hard drives from $90, which is better value.

    • both of those that you listed are more expensive, and the first one is also slower (5400 VS 7200 RPM)

and saying 1tb is better value, of course it is, IF you need it. if the person doesn't, then they're spending 40 dollars more than they need to —- not a deal!!!

    • and what if you don't want a 1TB hard drive? your negative vote is one of the stupidest i've ever seen on ozbargain.

  • delivery cost?

  • MSY has 1tb for $95 and 2 for $189
So buying a 2tb is better value than 4 of these.

    • As with everything in life the more you buy the cheaper it gets
