    SSDs SSDs SSDs SSDs.

Time to upgrade the desk drawer to support another few dozen SSDs, SD cards, ebooks and academy courses. Eneloops are extinct now.

cheap but I dont have the money

Samsung Portable SSD is no longer available from Amazon.

  • portable SSD …… I usually upgrade a PC or lap top and the old SSD goes into an enclosure. usb3 port will be the bottleneck anyway and nicer to hve the faster or larger SSD where I get the most use or uplift.

USB3 has enough bandwidth for SATA3 drives.

Actually many USB3 cases are pretty slow, mine only runs at about 40MB/s max… (connected to a USB3 port)

        • I bought the 500GB T1 from Bing Lee during the CTECHIE discounts. Paid $228 :( but it's stupid fast in the hundreds of MB/s.

PNY is well reviewed, have been looking for a sub $150 500gb. Thanks OP.

Likewise here. Finally bit the bullet. Thanks OP!

      • Out of stock until April 11?

        • Yes but happy to wait 2 weeks for it.

    • The benchmarks online for this PNY vs the samsung evo 850 seems to show that the samsung is a lot faster. do you know if theres any significant difference for day to day use?

      • Generally little difference, but it depends on what day to day use is.

  • Price is back up I think?

    • Price is still the same (make sure to select amazon as your seller in the right sidebar), but it's out of stock now. You can still backorder though, and stock will come in on April 15, 2016

      • Thanks. Sorry about that. Have a good night.

        • No worries, amazon is confusing as hell sometimes.

  • Not sure about the SSD but I got a bad experience with their 256 GB Flash Drive which won't last even for a month.
Lucky there is no important & crucial file there.

    • Yeah the PNY turbo usb is now horrible (you can see from the negative reviews coming in), but its SSDs are top quality

      • Do you reckon I can get a refund from amazon? I made the purchase quite a while ago, not so sure if they accept.
It's kind of my fault as I didn't claim a refund ASAP after it broke, Bought it around $93, (profanity) hell

How long was it ago? With Amazon, it's always worth a try no matter what the circumstance, they have the best customer service.

        • @lyl:
Around a year ago. No way they will accept it. I really regret that I didn't claim it straight away when it broke. 100 dollor gone :'(

  • SSD again? Just wonder how many ssd we are already collected.
