  • watch Viet, Thai or Indian?

    • when I got one a few months ago, there is a Viet tv app loaded by default. don't know about the others… keen to find more information on finding other tv apps for the HTV.

    • Yes, there's some Viet content. No Thai or Indian though.

  • 5% saving? So much wow!

    • +5

Better than a kick in the nuts though.

    • The manufacturer has set a minimum retail price unfortunately, can't go lower than that. Combined with the coupon me have reached it.

  • +5

it will end at some stage like tvpad series did. they steal the contents without permission and broadcast. waste of money.

    • Most likely however this one supports Android apps installation so you can install 3rd party paid apps on it later if it becomes a brick, eg. CloudTV.
The way I see it, you are paying for a once of subscription fee with these boxes, ie. it might be $250 once off but sooner or later it'll need to be upgraded/ replaced.
The servers on their end can't survive on your once off purchase fee. It doesn't run on free labour.

    • I've got one called Unblock Tech TV box for something around $110 few months back. It works OK most of the time although not as smooth compared to the old TVpad3 (now a complete piece of brick) but good enough to keep the in-laws happy. Pretty sure streaming service will get shutdown at some point but I could install other apks on that box. Not sure how HTV would compare but $259 is just too much to risk.

  • +1

hi Reps, do you think H.TV will copy what TvPad did in near future to shut down 1 and 2?

    • Apparently TVPad4 still works according to my friend while TVPad3 and below is useless. I have one at home doing nothing.
You'll need to decide whether to pay $259 and watch it now for a indefinite amount of time or use your PC.

    • I'm quite sure every IPTV box manufacturer is aware how much tvpad damaged it's sales and reputation with it. No one's gonna copy that :)

  • +1

Yeah having a quick look, I reckon the content is illegally re-broadcast, thus it'll be shutdown at some point.

  • I've been in Australia for over 10 years, I don't need Brazilian content anymore so I will pass. I must say that I know I few brazilian blokes that love this little box. Thanks OP!

  • But I heard this web site is not the official website

    • +1

I heard that you heard wrong.

      • +1

        i haven't heard a thing.

    • You actually heard correctly :)
We are authorized resellers, with a significantly lower price than the factory store. Even without the coupon.

    • You are correct this isn't the official site. This one is http://www.htvbox.com/

  • they may be reselling http://ntv.mx

  • can't you at least do a 10% discount?

  • Hi fellow ozbargainers… I saw some article on the WSJ that TVpad got sued in the USA and they got shutdown by KBS and SBS (Korean TV)…I just read that H.TV are getting sued now in the States….not sure the impact for here in OZ but I would hold out and use the usual method until the lawsuit goes away…can the reps guarantee the service for a period of time?

    • usual method?

      • other boxes or online ;)

        • how to watch online? say TVB (HK)?

        • @homersyd:

just google…but a lot of them has closed down since the new laws came into play last year

    • Can you provide the link of the article that H.TV is also getting sued? Thanks.

    • Never heard about H.TV getting sued.
But even if they would, in case of tvpad the end result was only blocked service in the US and Korea. Everywhere else the service still works.

  • I remember there was a discussion on TV pad before….here it is

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/217698

  • doesn't this just have an app that can be cloned / copied onto one of the cheaper to boxes ?

  • How similar/different is this to Kodi?

  • +1

    Sydney pickup $245 (cash) from

    Shop 21 / 8 Quay Street, Haymarket

    Got one last week

    • just walk in? or order online?

      • Walked in and haggled.

    • Any comments on the its use? Ta

      • Not bad, really.

Only thing is if you set to English, most apps are still in Chinese. Also, the remote kinda crap, but I can live with it. Found the XXX app….search on youtube where to download from, and the passwords to login.

    • H.TV has set a minimum retail price. If a reseller is discovered dumping all it's boxes will be remotely closed by H.TV (even the ones sold).
Quite obviously this seller is dumping, so if someone tips him off you are out of luck. And you just basically did, by posting this online :)
I'm not just bashing competitors here, there's feedback from users who had such experience:
      http://tvpadtalk.ca/discussion/649/htv-3-tvbox-is-not-workin…

      • I barely call a $10 discount "dumping"

Also, a quick check on ebay shows many vendors are selling for $259 with free express postage. So less the postage, the vendor will still be getting around $245 or so….I cant see how this would be dumping by a vendor.

In any case, they may be re-seller from another seller, how would HTV know where they got their stock and which boxes to disable??

If anyone did tip them off, we would all know who : )

        • -2

The end price counts. Does not matter if it's a physical or online store.
The wholesale prices for H.TV are not that good for re-sellers. So I highly doubt a "re-seller from another seller" could offer such prices. Even if they are, the initial seller would have to give them up, or get all his own boxes closed.
Chinese companies are quite strict with those policies, we have experienced it with a couple of other products as well. If they can't identify the seller they make a purchase and check it based on the MAC address.
Dumping is dumping. Does not matter if it's $100, $10 or $1. The factory has set the rules, if someone brakes them willingly (all have been warned beforehand) he will face the consequences. As will his clients unfortunately.

Anyway, no point arguing with me regarding this. We don't make the rules, we just follow them. And of course we will do everything we can to protect our business. Including tipping off competitors who don't follow the rules :)

        • @htv-box:

Can you please let us know what is the wholesale price?

They are reside in China and Chinese always do whatever they want to us and the world.

If this happens in Australian Company ACCC is properly looking into it now, controlling the price of a product.

        • @htv-box:
I'm not sure if you are contradicting yourself. Your website says don't buy from seller that sell below USD $209 and yet with your coupon you are selling USD $199. Are you sure no one will tip you off and brick all your devices? I'm interested to get one from you, but worry that your box might get bricked too for selling below price.

        • @LoveBargain15:
Depends on the quantity and your bargaining skills :)
But it's quite a lot higher than other IPTV boxes right now on the market.

        • @akte:
The wording on our site is a bit creative for marketing purposes, we actually don't say the minimum price is $209 :)
Combined with the coupon we are exactly at the limit.

        • @htv-box:
Ah I see, thanks for the info!

  • Total comes up to $260, not $259?

    • Sorry, the base currency is USD, so it might change a bit one direction or the other. 12h ago it was $259 :)

  • There must quite a few existing users of H.TV, please comment on its performance? Anyone?

    • Here's a Canadian forum dedicated to it:
      http://tvpadtalk.ca/categories/htv-iptv-box

Don't mind the moderator pushing his coupon, he's affiliated with the store (even deleted our post and account when someone asked about ours). The shop in question is legitimate (factory shop), as is his coupon. But you'll get it cheaper elsewhere as long as it above the minimum price.

      • The matter is that moderator is more trustworthy than your shop. As his coupon goes to the official website. The only thing is its in USD and will cost more than most eBay sellers and including yours.

I had the Moonbox and TVpad4 both box works quite well. Until they don't work I won't bother with H.TV.

H.TV and unblocktech are currently being watched and on the blacklist by TVB US. $260 is too much risk.

Just watch how TVpad 1-3 and Maige TV have all gone down

        • Can you source where you got that "H.TV and Unblocktech are currently being watched and on the blacklist by TVB US"? I was unable to locate such info. Thanks.

        • @kpet:

Here's a link for a document in Hong Kong. Might need google translate or someone who knows how to read Chinese

          http://www.legco.gov.hk/yr13-14/chinese/bc/bc106/papers/bc10…

There was a link from official TVB USA site showing unblocktech, Moonbox HTV are all their targets. I lost the link

        • @neonlight:

          Thanks. Very helpful.

        • @kpet:

Here's another video in Cantonese. TVB USA

          https://www.facebook.com/TVBUSAofficial/videos/1015336815841…

          Very high risk I say

        • @neonlight:
It took years in court with tvPad. And as end result service in the US was closed. It did not affect any customers in other countries.
So yes, there's a certain risk for US customers in a couple of years. There's not even a court case yet, just 1 video on the TVB USA youtube channel. No need to panic :)

  • A $13 discount on $260+ product is not a bargain. This is thinly veiled advertising being masked as a 'deal'.

  • +1

I bought 2, the first one is htv2 last year, the second one is htv3 early this year. I think they are best boxes I ever have.

  • Care to discount for multiple units?

    • Sure, just contact us via email or live chat.

  • This price is not very good you might as well pay for Tvpad 4
