This looks tempting. Curious to hear opinions on this deal!

    • At face value this looks like a great deal, definitely way cheaper than anywhere else according to my google-fu…I'm not up to date with current Sammy tabs, maybe owners can offer some advice/reviews of the device.

Tablet S2 is better but more expensive may be wait for eBay deal.

1.5GB ram I think not quite enough.

sadly this tablet not even 1280 screen

at 10" u will need at least 1280 if not Full HD

The TAB is great value. My kids use it for school and for gaming. Looks like a good deal. It was only slightly cheaper in the post Xmas 15% off ebay sale at $229.

    • Thanks for your comments. I ended up passing on the product. I think I'll wait for a Tab S2 or IPad.

I recently purchased the 8" for $245 at the good guys, it's a handy little unit, my needs are Study (reading and videos) and just browsing the web, it's certainly up to the task. This is a great deal!

These have a very crappy resolution of 1024 x 768 for a large tab.
I got one last year then returned it as it was no good for reading smaller text.
I then got the Galaxy Tab S 8.4" (2560 x 1600 Resolution) and even though it was slightly smaller it outperformed the Tab A in every way.

    • I agree that Tab S is way better then this.I am unable to understand that normally the newer product is better but this newer version of Samsung tab is really not as good as the previous tab S.

dont get this, the resolution is killer, at almost 10inches with 1024 say hello to 2010, plenty of these floating on Ebay cause people realised their mistake

  • is the resolution for the 8" acceptable?

      My missus enjoys the 8"

He never said the 8" was his.

  • dont expect an Android update ever, still 5.0 and no info of an update coming

    • Who said it needs it?

I've never understood newer for the sake of it. Give me stable & mature OS, annnnnyday.

      • I have a Samsung note 4, the Bluetooth keeps dropping. The new marshmallow update has a fix for that, still waiting for the update so i can use my new headphones with my phone. This is one of many reasons im waiting for the next update from Samsung

I bought this to load textbooks and help out with my study. Does a fine job of that. I got mine for $320 or something a while back, and though I was initially skeptical about how much I'd use it, it comes with me to work some days and gets used plenty at home

Ordered one at bargain price and free home delivery.. Gud bargain for 9.7@

  • These are really good. They are the ones with the pen. So you can take hand writtennotes.

    • Probably a different more expensive model for the pen model.

This makes a great overall tablet. Makes a great first tablet. Would have similar power to the Nexus 2013.

Actually performs worse than Nexus 2013 when it comes to heavy 2d rendering, in which very taxing games tend to have a poor responsive touch screen ( happens to the Nexus 2013 as well but no as badly)

Won one of these as a prize.. I dont use it that often, generally for udemy videos and those escape games. Probably used it more than my ipad4 though because it's lighter and the novelty factor.

  • It hasn't expired and I also got Officeworks to price match and then saved another $12! $227 all up. Bargain!!!

    • yup, the code still work

  • How did you get the code to work? On the Target site it says that it is 'Unavailable Online'.

    • Must be out of stock now.
