no postage discount for more than one lot

    • +6

Wow - Really a neg because they don't offer postage discounts? The flip side is that it's free pick up which makes this an amazing deal for $0.01

      • +2

I have to sort of agree with Bartracer. I mean for pickup you are only allowed 1 order, but if you want to post you are allowed multiple orders but no shipping discount. How many rules are there, pretty much what they are saying is the shipping is used to make themselves some extra cash on the filters. If you think about it, its sort of like how some ebay sellers give awesome prices on a product then try to make up for it in shipping costs. I just dont like businesses like that, I know Catch of the day sometimes do the same thing. Especially on the free days or the cheap day specials, they conveniently remove combined shipping costs, so what you will find is with multiple products their shipping ends up costing around 80+$ but yet it all comes in one normal box through australia post.

That similar sized box and weight when i buy from other shops, they charge a flat rate around 6 or 10$ for australia post shipping since companies get much better rates. Anyway i digress, i am not voting a negative yet, but just saying i can sort of see where Bartracer is coming from. I dont see why they couldnt have just increased the adsl filter price to an amount that they can afford to keep it at while allowing normal things like multiple order pickups or shipping costs combined.

        • Look at it from the retailers point of view. There has to be LIMITS for this promotion, what stops people like bartracer from exploiting the deal?

For most people, who legitimately want one set, I'm very happy with the postage. And even better if you are going to pickup.

This is obviously a promotion. People not needing to be cheap skates and understand that.

@zhenjie: retailers can allways set a limit

            this retailer has not

you can buy 100 of these

            cost $1.00 for all items

            postage $598.00

Not that i wanted to buy 100 just 2 sets

            • +2

@bartracer: You obviously have no clue and ignorant to the fact they aren't targeting the demographic that want 100 of these filters.

Its a promotion. Welcome to real life. If you wanted so many, get it from another place that will probably give you a bulk discount.

Another ozbargain "me, me, me!" whinger…

              • +3

@zhenjie: Well it's still a legitimate complaint - not necessarily one I would make, but still entitled to the opinion. I think you have taken the example as his intention. rather that bartracer is simply pointing out by extreme example that the postage isn't postage at $598.00 for 100.

Think your whinge about the whinge is a little extreme. But hey tahts why we all can have an opinion here

                • +3

@[Deactivated]: I think zhenjie has been inspired by the new movie "kickass". He wants to show he can be a mod. Self-employed comment police.

                • -4

@[Deactivated]: Thanks for your opinion ozpete. Which I don't agree with. Guess you're having a little whinge about my whinge about another whinge.

            • @bartracer: isnt there a limit of 1 (2pack) per person??

            • -1

              @bartracer: @bartracer

move on mate, ozbargain ain't for greedy bastards that buy 100 of the same free item to resell!

              • +2

@neosin: See my point above, think you miss bartracer's point. Also a little extreme to use that language especially when to me at least I think you have misread the comment.

  • ADSL or ADSL2? Big difference.

    • i thought there was no such thing as an adsl2 filter, or if there is, they are expensive

    • Not really. It's a marketing thing. Filters will vary in quality depending on the band they let pass or filter out, but there isn't an iso standard for it. If it works, it works.

      • +2

        There are standards for filters:

Historically the first Australian standard on ADSL filters was Appendix F of S002 (followed by several amendments). Soon after ADSL deployment started, it became apparent that filters designed to this standard were not sufficient. While compliance with S002 was a legal requirement at the time, Telstra issued its own specification RCIT.0004, later amended as Issue 2. This was based on the European standard, ETSI TS 101 952-1.1 and TS 101 952-1-5 these European standards are quite general in their nature, normally adopted by various countries in Europe with country specific modifications. Some of the clauses in the ETSI standard have been made more demanding by Telstra and as such, RCIT.0004 is not a specification easy to comply with. Note that RCIT.0004 compliance is only needed for filters supplied to Telstra, as per their requirement, while compliance with S002 was still required (at that time) for the filters to be legally sold in the Australian market.

Recognizing the deficiencies in the old S002 Appendix F standard, a new standard has been issued for ADSL filters in Australia: S041. In the introduction it is explained that this new standard is based on S002 Appendix F. In fact, S041 has little resemblance with S002 and it is also based on the ETSI standards mentioned above and it is very similar to RCIT.0004.

From the people that make filters:

        http://www.c10.com.au/products/adsl-filters#q15

As you can see there are filters that will cause issues with ADSL2 from the Q&A

        • Interesting info thanks

  • OzStock have always been good to me - got a couple of freebies from them promptly. For 1c pickup, a real bargain. $6 delivered is just as good, Belkin branded ones usually fly for about $14 ea (pickup, obviously).

  • …. How do I pay 1cent? thru paypal? lol .. :P

Good deal, this is better than the one last time from ozstock where it was only ONE free!!

  • Nice, considering pick-up is free!

    Cheers

  • +1

MSY have filter/splitters for $3. Ritmo or A-power brand. I would get the Ritmo, cause i got my aunty both types, and the Ritmo was better.
Awesome deal if you can pick up, but otherwise it's just OK. Seeing as this is only a filter, whereas the MSY options are have the splitter function too.

This LASER brand for 1c is more attractive though.
