Microsoft Surface Pro 4 128GB M3 $1079.20 or 128GB i5 $1,119.20 @ Dick Smith (George Street Sydney)

240

Had a look at DSE Sydney 413 George St store about 30 mins ago.

They have 20% off the RRP of Surface Pro 4 128GB M3 (RRP$1,249) or 128GB i5 model (RRP$1,399).

The Surface Pro 4 128GB M3 is listed on DSE's website:

http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tablets-accessories/ms-surface-p…

This pricing betters Microsoft's offer of $100 off RRP for Surface Pro 4 models online or in-store.

Enjoy!

Wasn't able to take a photo as I was short of time.

Waiting for the flash to warm up is a bugger😄

  • And a $35 old generation keyboard cover to go with it.

($44 at Harvey Norman if JB are sold out)

  • Waiting for the flash to warm up are you using a fifty year old camera, what a beauty never heard that one before.Funny guy

Damn guys . . going to buy one now!! Been stalking the SP4 for a while now!!

  • are these new or display models?

    • +1

Brand new units and the sign said fresh stock just in.

  • Who handles the warranty , Dicksmith or MS directly

    That's a major concern

    • +2

MS of course. I have an xbox and ps4 from dse. It doesnt matter if DSE goes out of business.

      • That's a relief then , MS warranty service is pretty good :)

  • I want one, but still at work. Tmr morning will be out of stock. So sad!

  • Any one know, is it enough with a 4G ram? I don't want slow after 1 year. Thanks guys

    • Why would time make it any slower? If you are using the same apps it will run just as well. Size bloat is a thing for many apps but for general productivity, web-surfing and office tasks 4GB should remain enough for several years at least. Video or photo editing may require more ram and if you were intending to use this to edit large images in, for example photoshop, on a regular basis I would probably opt for some ram.

      • Thx

      • Given just having my surface pro 4 turned on takes up about 3GB I'd be very reluctant to recommend the 4GB version except for the easiest tasks (web browsing emails etc, with little video content).

I use Lightroom and the 8GB is a must for that!

  • Hi all, was just at my local dick smith as they were closing for the day. The manager was updating the hanging signs to say 35-80% off starting tomorrow. Didn't give any specifics but told me to hold off purchasing until then. Will report back in the morning

Told you to hold off so he could purchase them all and flog on the bay

      • +1

Good on him if he does. I wouldn't have any loyalty left if i was working for dse.

Posted the list in another DSE post (batteries):

  • Does anyone know of any Melbourne Dick Smith stores that stock the surface pro?

  • Looks like Dick Smith was also short of time so they couldn't take a photo for their website.

Some of you might be wondering, Dick Smith never sold surfaces before - why are they selling them now when they're a few weeks from closing down for good?

Answer: This is stock that originally belonged in the Move by Dick Smith duty free shops in Sydney Airport, where they were permitted to sell Surfaces. Technically Microsoft didn't allow Dick Smith to sell the Surface in non-airport stores, but now that its liquidation time, it's fair game to sell anything and everything they can regardless of authorised reseller status (similar deal with any of the Bose or B&O stock that Move stores had - regular Dick Smith store's were not authorised resellers).

It also means you probably won't find them elsewhere outside of the old George St flagship store, or maybe a handful of other stores in Sydney (Move by Dick Smith only operated in Sydney Airport).

    • There was a Move in Macquarie centre for 1 and half year, NSW post code 2113.

Yeah I know, poor wording on my part (forgot to insert what I'd said prior that it was just the Airport stores, that were branded slightly differently to the other Move stores that sold Surface).

      • There were Move stores in shopping centres here in QLD too.

  • Thanks OP bought one this morning. Only have m3 left

  • Bah, it couldn't have been last week when I was in Sydney for PD, now could it!!! :/

  • They only have the M models left

  • +1

Damn it - Newcastle stores don't stock these :(

Any luck with price matching anywhere? :D

  • What's warranty like with DSE?

Did they offer you 2 year extended warranty?

  • Had gone there in the morning yesterday ( Friday), but only M3.
Thanked the store manager and left…

  • I was there this evening at the George Street Sydney store. The store manager told me they still have a small number of the M3s. In case anyone is interested on them.
