          It's so wild. I mainly use it for OneDrive storing photos. But when you need Word or Excel you need it.

          Shame really.

            @JumpingUnicorns: Libre. I regularly share files with ms office users and apart from some rare grievances with very particular Excel features it's a perfect substitute.

        There is a non-copilot version for 109$ called office 365 classic. Got my subscription changed to that. Ideally, should have been the default rather than changing to Co-pilot version. I am not sure at this stage my usage warrants co-pilot.

          I don't have the option to change to that plan in my Microsoft account? Can only go up to a Family sub. I've got yearly billing on as I think I got an extra 3 months free when doing it.

    Just make sure to not claim the McAfee thing, things like this are worse than most viruses they protect against.

      It literally is a virus, with dark patterns that don't allow you to close the windows without paying. Had a hard time uninstalling it on my friends laptop even though I'm tech savvy.

        I had macafee pre-installed on a new laptop and soon ended up with a browser hijacker that redirected all of my google searches to yahoo. It migrated to my other browser-syncd PCs. Complete PITA to remove

      You can stack these - I've done at least 2 years previously. Just login to your Office365 account with the code.

      The Personal is different to Family, it's 1TB vs 6TB in one drive, you also need to share same login to 2nd person while family one can have 6 separate logins.

      Used to be buying 4 x 1 year of Personal and add all code in, then use the family edition code last as it will automatically upgrade all 5 years to family edition.

      Maximum is 5 years of stacking, not 100% sure now if those still apply since I'm on 2nd year of my 5.
