did you read the post. Its in BOLD

First to be revealed on ozbargain !! Groupon's biggest discount to date and is live for 5 hours from 12 Midday until 5pm.

      • -1

my bad, I think you may need bold "12 Midday until 5pm" as well.
        Thanks a lot.

  • I've seen that Audible one list before but didn't buy because people weren't sure if you could use it on an existing account. Can you?

EDIT My account is a US account so it likely doesn't matter either way. Never mind.

    • +1

im pretty sure you can change the region to AU

    • The groupon code didn't work on my AU one but when I transferred it from US to AU the other day, they gave me a free credit for my efforts anyway.

  • even with 20% off their fitbit charge hr is definitely not worth, espcially with 12$ shipping

    • How do you get free shipping at Groupon? Spend over X amount?

  • +1

How long does it take for IMAX vouchers to be sent? And when do they expire?

    • +2

You will receive the voucher quite instantaneously after your ordered. Expires 8/6/16

      • Thank you!

        • +2

Make sure you book asap, last time it was funny to see so many people trying to sell their IMAX vouchers in front of the IMAX on the last day before expiry.

        • @akastyl13: LOL thanks for the heads up!

    • You get the voucher straight away, but note that it is valid from 11 Apr 2016, not sooner.

  • GoPro is great deal after 20% off

    • +2

Too bad the T&C's state "Maximum discount amount is $50." I was hoping to get this also :(

      • +3

Maybe the subtitle should at least mention, ' any deal at A$250 above will be capped at $50 saving' to stop people like me getting over-excited

  • It looks like 10% only now - my bad, got thrown off by the current 10% offer

this is a nice one if anyone interested in Deep sea fishing

  • For 2 IMAX tickets we use the BDAY10 on one and BDAY20 on the second

    • Or create 2 accounts to use BDAY20

  • The only exclusions I can find are gift cards so site-wide should include goods and travel I hope/suspect? Sounds like a good deal.

    • +1

      Maximum discount amount is $50

Been reading plenty of comments re referral links. Why is everyone so hung up about it? Is there a problem if the OP makes a buck on the side.

      • +6

It's because some not so great deals get posted by people with referral links.

The post isn't for a great deal, it's for an average deal and to get a referral link out there.

        • Great deal or not, what's the issue? You have a choice to use it or not right? No one is shoving it down anyone's throat?

        • +3

          @themob:
My interpretation of the reactions is that they are more about volume of posts that aren't considered to be deals/bargains coming in.

It's much easier for a good post to fall through relatively unnoticed and not make it to the front page if the 'new deals' page is constantly inundated with minor savings/free shipping only type deals, that appear to be primarily posted as a referral opportunity.

      • +6

IMO Ozbargain is not a site to make money from, use eBay or gumtree if you want to profit from things. It ruins the community feel or this site.

This post is a fantastic deal but the OP is pushing people into using his link.

        • I'm not here to defend the post or the OP but I honestly fail to see why people have an issue with referrals. You have a choice to use the link or not don't you?

        • @themob: Its a long running issue so i won't go into it publicly, cheers.

        • IMO, someone spends their time and look for these deals (so in return you save your time X number of people take advantange of a deal) should deserve some incentive to encourge them to post more deals. They are not obligated to share these deals to start with. I mean other than vote +, what else do you get by sharing a deal?

        • +2

@fchis: "what else do you get by sharing a deal?" Is that even a serious question? I guess you haven't lived in a community. Ill tell you what you get, you get the chance to experience other peoples deals, otherwise we should all stop posting unless we can make money.

        • @clarky: Well, that's from your perspective. But not everyone would share the same view as you. if there are no deals on this site to begin with, the communitiy will not have existed. Not everyone shares a deal is only here for the + vote.

OzBargain 101: Lesson 3: Referral Links

        • @neil: thanks Neil, my 2 cents posted.

    • +2

I had 3 or 4 new users used my referral link and purchased something about a year or 2 ago. Groupon subsequently banned my account, said something about fraud? Anyway, they asked me to verify the identity of those I referred to prove that it wasn't fraudulent. Obviously, I couldn't verify their identities so they confiscated the referral fees but re-activated my account. Haven't used Groupon ever since.

Code is now Live. Happy Shopping !!

  • How did you come to $15.20 for the vivid cruise? I can't see any $19 cruise in your link

  • Thanks for the audible discount!

  • cashback please @TA :)

  • Discounts coming out wrong.BDAY10 gives 5% only and BDAY20 gives 10%.

    • +1

your probably adding 2 deals. Discount is only valid for 1 deal

      • Thanks.Reckon then I'll hv to use 2 accounts to buy the same one deal then to get the discount for both.

  • FYI - cheaper for IMAX documentary/short film tickets (rather than $12)
    https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/dealbank_en_au/imax-sydney-…
    Adult: $9.60
    Child: $7.20

  • Just reading the Vivid Cruise $19 - includes boarding time. Cruise 9:00 - 10:30 = 90 minutes but boarding time is 9:15pm - pretty misleading.

  • +1

Codes a bit broken, I had a bunch of deals up, tried it with one, then removed it, and can't apply it to any others.

    • Same with me.

      • +1

no problem here. Been testing the code with the deals i posted.

  • Trying to buy 3 ticket for the Vivid cruise but only getting discount of $3.80 after putting in the code

    • Copied from their T&C: "The discount will be applied to one single voucher."
      So 3 ticket = 3 voucher.Only x1 discount applied to 1 voucher.

    • Discount only applies to one deal/discount per account . You would have to ask your other 2 friends to buy their own ticket

      • But they are for my wife and my daughter (unfortunately my wife does not have a account)

        • Ask her to sign up or use the BDAY10 code. You also get the 6.8% cashback with cashrewards with BDAY10 code.
Unfortunatly, BDAY20 is not valid for cashback.

  • Great Deal….. got my Village Roadshow Themeparks coupon for 71.99. yeyeiiii

    • +1

      Same here.

      Thanks OP!

  • Picked up 2 resturaunt groupons - cheers!

  • Has anyone used the 'Polar White' or 'GoWhite' teeth whitening systems? The two sites are oddly similar…

  • Thanks going to Luna Park - as already mentioned can only buy 1 ticket with 20% discount - you'll need to make an additional account for each additional ticket if you want the full 20% off.

  • Didn't realise you could only use it once - should have put a dew more items in my basket before checking out.

    • +1

dont feel bad. The code only works on one deal regardless of how many deals you have in basket

  • Tried the code now, but no longer working. It's not even 5pm yet!

    • still working. just tested it

      • Trying to buy a photobook, I've added the code, they accepted it but does nothing to the price.

        • link

        • Tried buying different items, not working either!

        • @Project Peanut: How do you generate Groupon short url?

  • Seem to have shut this down early.

    • Nah, just that the time zone was wrong on the heading. It was meant to be AEDT

  • Is this dead now?

    • It ended just over an hour ago. The 10 % off still works until midnight AEDT.
