  • I bought one a few weeks back.

    Certainly good value.

I pulled mine down to check the internals. I modded mine to fix the poor LED placement for charging indicator, and that's probably the most annoying thing. Also fixed flex on the control PCB which made button pushes mushy.

The battery is a 18650 lithium (about 2200mAh from memory).

Sound is pretty flat as it has 2 small full range speakers, but it also has a 3.5mm line input. On my phones the controls on the speaker also control the media player, however the rear placement is terrible for ease of use.

I got knocked back a little for my post on 29/2, as it was a dupe of this one

    :-p.
It's been this price for a while apparently, but for the price, I'm quite happy with mine. I sometimes have problems with mine when the sound is really mushy or poor connections, which are fixed by plugging in the line cord them withdrawing it again - suspect a slightly cheap and nasty cut-over between BT and line in the socket.
It couples up with the $9 Digital radio they had.

    • Still quite a few around in Adelaide - I guess that the O.P. gets to count this as a post by default if that one expired… [LOL]

Old deal expired on 16/3… terrys, you were just to eager ;-)

Would make sense to unexpired that deal, but it was a confusing combination of 2 Kmart deals.

I bought the $19 Kmart Bluetooth speaker with USB input & large clock - saw a few a week ago in Kmart. Quite happy with it. Also use it for the $9 DAB+ Kmart radio via AUX. After modding 1 radio, its still in pieces on the work bench, awaiting further mods.

        • I just bought two of the $9 radios as my first DAB+. Only thing I'd like to mod is an aerial socket. What are you modding exactly?

Just for the record, I actually went to the trouble to make separate posts and a mod decided to combine them "to make it clearer for people"

I am also interested in what you are modding. I was thinking I could add digital radio via Aux to my car but I am better starting off with a pocket unit. But then there are do many options why not just Bluetooth from the phone or use FM

          @syousef:
details of my mods & suggestions in that deal - link above. I tried to change antenna connection but gave up.

        • @Jackson:
Combining deals can make the separate deals worse & hard to follow :-(

I use DAB+ fed into Bluetooth head unit in car via AUX, powered by USB charger - quite enjoyable.

I bought a great Sangean dab+ portable radio from DS a few years ago. Sold in DJs DS store for $119, bought for $13! The advantage for car use is dedicated station buttons, rather than pressing a few buttons to find station.

      • Still a couple left at Bondi Junction last week. I was in the line and 2 Swedish birds had two tiny speakers in their hands and were asking the guy in at the counter which one was better. At 10 bucks each it's a travesty this bloke couldn't score some points and point them to this speaker, has to be much better than a palm sized thing and he may have scored some points. In the end I had to do it.

        • He was probably making the recommendation based on the size of his own equipment.

        • Sometimes small is better - for travellers. I'm off to Japan for a month, so wanted a tiny Bluetooth speaker for travel (only take what fits in carryon). Taking a $5.50 delivered veho360 from a JBHiFi deal last year.

  • Just picked up 2 today great sound for the money.

  • do they only come in pink?
