I have been window shopping for a gas lift bed base all week, and then I stumbled on this, it compares in features to the build-a-bed I did with Sealy, but Sealys price was $1500+. On a side note, Koala Mattress King Singles are on back-order until 18 April, does anyone have a suggestion for a similar mattress, because I am going to need it next week (so much for that 4 hr delivery I was counting on). If there is only one left it doesn't qualify as a available, but I notice there are other similar options on the same site for $285.

    • I am not sure how many are left, but the notice came up after I purchased. If I had not found it myself, I would have liked discovering the deal here.

Added 10 to cart, it added fine, so there's sufficient stock

  • I was just about to by one of these on eBay for $289 but thought I'd check ozb first and there it is on the front page !

  • Wonder how this compares to the ones on eBay.

Now just a need a good matress deal , any ideas?

  • Doesn't Ikea sell gas lift beds now? Pretty sure I saw one last time I was there

I just put up my queen leather gas lift frame from mydeal 2 days ago. Have to say, Amaze-balls!

Quick delivery comes in 2 boxes. Took about 2 hrs to set up and I have to say its bloody sturdy. Best frame Ive had and Ive been through ones from snooze and ikea costing $700-900. Frame is metal, slates are laminated but dont bend easily. Every screw fits in perfectly and didnt need to muck around adjusting or filing. Gas lift works a charm with plenty of space underneath. Lock engages itself when u let the bed go.

Only downside might be that the floor of the bed frame is just a piece of black cloth held to the frame by velcro. But quite strong velcro and strangley looks quite nice when its installed. Not cheap looking at all.

Unlike cheapo bed frames from aldi it has plastic housings running down the middle and sides so it balances the mattress evenly. Tried the aldi bed frame and would feel like rolling towards the edge.

Definitely recommend any gas lift frame from my deal. They feel like luxuary frames. So happy with mine and it was only $275.

    • Excellent, I checked the image as best as years of shopping online experience would allow me, and I am not opposed to sending crap products straight back to where they came from, but I had a good feeling about this one, your feedback has me on a feelgood now! Those laminated slats you speak of seem to be the new standard in foldaway and gas lift beds.

      • Yeh great buy. Who would have thought from mydeal as well!

I was hesitant at first (since it wasn't a bedding coporation like sealy or domayne) but good reviews had me pulling the trigger. I have the Prado PU leather version and the finish is beautiful. No loose leather and the stitching is impeccable. But apart from the outer shell all their gas frames are structurally identical. They definitely feel a lot more than they cost.

        • I shied away from leather after seeing the poor condition of the second hand ones, but if you are in a kid,pet and drunken mate free zone, then I envy you, they look lush new!

  • The bed is so good I bought a second one :)
