A cheaper deal was posted on ozbargain not that long ago, although it has already expired and it's red:

You do realize this two machines are hardly similar?

I stand corrected. $150 difference in RRP.

Do Nespresso machines really vary that much in terms of the quality of coffee produced?

    • -1

Yes, they definitely do. I believe this one makes much better coffee than the Latissima.

      • The Lattissima is more automated. Simpler to use if you have milk in your coffee.

I've had the Citiz+Milk for years and it's fine for me. I drink black coffee, the milk part of this machine is not great. The only complaint I have is that it could be a bit hotter - like the Lattissima.

        Those are also discounted.

        Lattissima Touch $478 ($599 - $120 cashback) down to $429 in red
        Citiz + Milk $229 ($329 - $100 cashback)

No I have asked the same question at different Nespresso stores before and all have confirmed that the chamber that the coffee comes out of are the same. The only difference comes to external build quality (metal vs plastic) and whether milk is separated from the main machine. The coffee produced is identical.

I have asked Nespresso salespeople the same question and received the same response.

        • It makes sense. The beans and grind will obviously be consistent. So the only differences could be temperature and pressure - for which I assume they would generally all be the same.

        • @Fiximol:
Some machines absolutely positively produces a higher temperature coffee than others.

Pixie is hotter than Lattissima which is hotter than Citiz.

But yes, they all just push water through a pod.

      • They are all "meant" to make the same espresso at 19 bar pump pressure. The variables are the amount of water being pushed through and the temp … and of course the way they handle milk if you want milk. But in terms of pure espresso, they are not intended to be any different. At default 40ml there should be no difference but as you can see, different machines can appear to produce hotter results than others. Nespresso puts this down to manufacturing variations not an intent.

    • has anyone purchased off ebay and claimed the cashback offer?

      • +1

I purchased through eBay on the Bing Lee eBay store back in Jan (?) when they were doing the 20% discount. Nespresso Cashback was processed without a hitch, and also got the cashrewards (cashback processed and approved just the other day).
An unexpected bonus was that cashrewards cashback is on the price BEFORE the 20% discount.

so you can effectively get it for $309 if you buy over $90 worth of Capsules on next order.

Yes, plus cashback if you buy over ebay.

  • Why the need fr a Professional Steam Wand when you have the Aeroccino Milk Frother?

    • Because the Aeroccino doesn't give the same result? Some people prefer to froth the milk slightly differently depending on what they are drinking, eg a stiff foam for a cappuccino, or more of a velvety foam for a flat white.

Regardless, I doubt it really matters if you are drinking Nespresso coffee.

  • wow.. the machine is selling for $899 at Myer (they do have a $15 off every $75 spent)

    http://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/nespresso-by-breville-be…

    • Good, maybe can pricematch with JBH and then pay with Myers gift card (obtained @ discount from various means like last week's Woolworths's catalogue sale, Coles Myer gift cards, etc), plus Myer reward points..

  • What is the difference between the delonghi and breville branded machines?

    • Nothing, just the color. Some color would be made by one company and some others made by another one, red citiz and milk are breville And black citiz and milk are delonghi, its the same machine.

      • That's not entirely correct. They are given the same specs but put them together in a manner they believe befits their brand. Read customer reviews for say a common machine like the Inissia, and you'll see a consistent theme that the Breville version tends to garner more complaints. There are also minor stylistic differences. With the Gran Maestria, which has been discontinued (hence the price reductions) both the Breville & DeLonghi versions are made in Europe so the differences may be lesser.

  • Just went to Myer to get it price matched. I was told that $399 is actually cost price for the machine so getting it for $329 is a bargain!! Not many in stock left

  • Anyone know of any deals on the normal maestria?
