OKay, this deal is not going to appeal to a lot of people but figured it was definitely worth sharing.
The Leap Motion controller has had a bit of a chequered history. It's a device that is designed to capture your hands in a 3D space, effectively becoming a 3D mouse. However, it was a gimmick, rarely worked and was useful for maybe 10 minutes before stuffing it back in the box, never to be used again. That was until a few days ago, when Leap Motion has released version 3 of its drivers, called Orion, which now apparently works as designed.

Now, what makes it the most interesting for me in particular is that it's looking like the hand/finger tracking is going to be useful in a virtual cockpit for VR. The developer for flyinside has released a very basic demo of it in use.

I've found a relatively cheap 'copy' on Aliexpress. Bear in mind that it's not an 'official' leap motion controller in a sense that it has a full leap motion warranty, but the hardware is exactly the same as the official version so will work as intended.
That said, I used the mobile app and mind came to $31.58AUD since it was my first order.
