$14 per 40 pack or 35c per wash. I prefer the aldi tablets.

    • Yeah I grab a few boxes of their platinum 100Pk for $15 the other week, they seem to perform as well as the fairy or finish ones.

  • Looks like a good deal (:

  • I find the aldi logix cheap rinse aid to be as good. Having said that store brand rinse aid as well. The values in the tabs I'd say.

    • Try vinegar as rinse aid. IMO works just as well as rinse aid.

Plus, I'd rather use less chemicals in the final rinse.

      • Ha. You answered the question I was going to ask. Lol.

        • My question always is:
Am I the only one who still uses anything? Don't all tablets etc claim to (somehow) be all one now??

        • @Utopian:

yes, no need for rinse aid with tablets, generally.

The rinse aid is to help things dry, and avoid your glassware coming out spotty.

I use Coles Ultra Action powder. $4 for 1kg. Made in Australia, contains enzymes, works as well as any tablet I've tried. 8c per wash as one cap full is 20g. 50 washes for $4.

The only catch is you have to measure out the powder yourself, but it's a trivially easy job and you can always use slightly less powder when washing less than a full load and save even more chemicals/money.

    • we used to manage this back in the day before "Big Detergent" decided we couldn't be trusted with dosage measurements!

    • Tonight I checked Aldi and they sell Australian made powder for $3.69 ker kilo. Judging from the marketing claims about 2x enzymes and such, it's the same stuff as Coles sells. I'll be going to Aldi for my next load.

  • No deal! 40pack is usually $10 in Reject Shop!

    • I am always wary of Reject Shop products as a lot are parallel imports and inferior to the locally sold product. Got caught out with Morning Fresh one time, the stuff from RS was useless (RS in fact).

      • Parallel import Finish tablets are in fact inferior because Europe recently banned the chemicals that are the best at cleaning stuff.

        I still buy them though.

You are talking about phosphates. Just check the label of your dishwasher powder/tablets. Finish says ">30% phosphates".

      • The genuine product in Coles is made in Poland. The grey import is also made there. I wouldn't have any problem buying either. Looking at the ingredients list of both they contain equal proportions of phosphates, bleaches, etc.

      • I purchased the Finish Max in One from Coles, they were shit because they just won't dissolve properly in my newish Asko when using a normal temp cycle.

I've never had any issues with powder residue in the past using Finish or Fairy tablets or powder.

Returned them to the manufacturer, they claimed they tested it and it was fine.. bullshit. They returned the used packet to me. Never again.

So I'm back to using grey import Fairy. I will use up the Finish Max in One when I use the hot cycle.
