    FREE Tens Machine

    What is that ?

    • +2

      Can't you just google?

      • -2

I looked on their website but it wasn't very descriptive.

It would be useful to put something in the description as I expect many other here wouldn't know what it was either…

          google mate, google.

          http://lmgtfy.com/?q=tens+machine

how hard is it to just do a google search..

You practically live here on this site and possible live on the net with so many comments, yet you can't even do a simple google.

how hard is it to just do a google search..

Each deal has a 'description' section, so people don't need to google to find out about the product being posted here…

        • @jv:

That might be so, but in this case YOU wanted to know what it is.

          The comment
          "What is that ?"

Could have just been replace with
"Tens Machine" and pasted in your address bar
which would have gave google search results with pictures

Instead you were lazy and decided to ask and wait for a response from the OP.

          ==
Even if it had a description don't mean ppl always know what that is..

I point to the anime thread, you commented

"I googled it. They are just cartoons, but cartoons for both kids and adults…. Like South Park." jv

        • @tyler.durden: whoa..
          Chill man.

        • @jv:

          JV,
Looking at the front page deals, most do not define the products mentioned. WTF is a chobani?

We can assume the poster thought most people knew what a TENS machine was (not Tens, BTW) . They've been around for many years.

So if you don't know, JFGI.

    • Oh, thanks…

I thought you mistyped "Time Machine"

    • I rather just get the EMS, which is much more better.

These TENS can be bought quite cheap on ebay or aldi.

      • -1

I rather get ECT machine, way more effective.

I'm tired of seeing quackery posted as a bargain. If there's limited, dubious or no evidence for something working, it shouldn't be allowed here.

I'm not even going to bother with links. Google TENS machine pseudoscience.

    • +1

Definitely worked for me, at least I think it was one of these.

Physio made me do it once per week for 5 weeks (5 free sessions via a care plan) to increase the tendon strength in my knees due to my ligament laxity issue.
Made a noticeable difference, and knee sit lower down / more normal looking in the socket.

    • @syousef,

As pain relief they certainly work. Other benefits as well. They're used a lot in physio practices as well.

Ozbargainers tend to shoot the messenger and downvote anything they don't want to hear to oblivion. If there is no evidence for it you're wasting your money. This place is about bargains, not being taken for a fool.

A lot of what your physio does is not backed up by much evidence. Not all of it. I'm not saying physios are quacks but you need to look into the particular treatment.

In the case of the TENS machine there isn't a good plausible mechanism for how it's suppose to work. Often the claims made by manufacturers are complete gibberish to anyone who knows anatomy or medicine.

They're also using these TENS machines for maternity now. No evidence for that either.

"Seventeen trials with 1466 women contribute data to the review. Thirteen examined TENS applied to the back, two to acupuncture points, and two to the cranium. Overall, there was little difference in pain ratings between TENS and control groups, although women receiving TENS to acupuncture points were less likely to report severe pain (average risk ratio 0.41, 95% confidence interval 0.31 to 0.54; measured in two studies). "

If you are in pain find something proven to work to spend your money on instead of vague potions, pills and placebos. And if there isn't anything accept it and live your life around the condition as best you can. Don't let the scum of the earth rip you off!!

        • -1

Yeah keep down-voting shills and true believers.

    • Placebos are proven effective for pain management.
Whether they are of any significant use in severe pain such as childbirth is another matter.

    • I have seen patients with opiate-refractory phantom limb pain claim that TENS works for them. There is weak evidence supporting their use in peer reviewed journals. There are also cochrane reviews ongoing investigating their use in a number of chronic pain conditions.

It's good to maintain a healthy skepticism but TENS is a little better than quackery. Just thought you'd like to know.

    • One mans dubious quackery is another mans placebo delight.

  • In case anyone's interested, you can buy TENS machines online for not much more than $10 or so. I've bought a couple in the past and they did the job.

  • These are expensive chairs for such a cheap gift, can these chairs be had cheaper anywhere?
