  • new customers only or everyone?

  • It's good for everyone !!!

    • does the discount update the prices at the "Confirm and review" step, or only after you've confirmed payment?
As i've tried using the code twice and it doesnt change the prices at the confirm and review page.

      • agreed - I can't get this code to work

        • might be for new customers only (like what renjunior suggested)

          • @soulspawn: I'm not a new member and it worked fine for me (paid by CC).
Pokemon Soul Silver for $52 delivered. :-)

        • +1

Ok - it applied the discount to the final bill I paid with Paypal

Geez this site is bad - errors, bad links, etc. Can't believe I gave them my money…couldn't resist the price

  • what the hell is it with fishpond? I put something in my cart, try to find something else to add to my cart, and the original item is gone - and now the price has gone up! Frack

    Edit:
Ok - for whatever reason some of their links go to the NZ site - then you lose your cart. Pretty sloppy…

  • they also 'randomly' request scans of your credit card (if you used one) as plain text emails, extreme security problems!

    • +1

      never asked me for mine.

    • +2

Yes they did that to me too and then I had two unauthorised tranactions on my cc after this. One for $2600 and other one for $2700.

Yet on their website it says:

"Can I email Fishpond My Credit Card details?
In order to ensure your credit card information is stored securely please do not email Fishpond your credit card details."

      http://www.fishpond.com.au/helpdesk.php?question_id=212

      EPIC FAIL!

What the… Thats $5,300. What did you do? Or .. What did you bank do to fix it?

        • My bank (westpac) put a close on the card and launched a fraud investigation on the two items. I'll just have to wait and see what happens. :(

      • That's not fishpond asking for your scan, that's a scammer. They do the same thing with paypal. You need to be way more careful.

Ummm No it came from fishpond's account. My order's were suspended and delayed because of this, and the stock was allocated to other people!. Fishpond suck!

When I log into fishpond account for the order details it says:

          "
          12/03/2010 3:42:43 PM Hi,

Thanks for your order with Fishpond.com.au

Your order is in stock and ready to ship.

To protect your security and as a routine check of large orders we would like to request that you send a scanned copy of your credit card (front and back) to [email protected].

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask,

          Regards,

          • @Turd: That's really suck!
I'd rather not to buy from them if they ask me to scan my credit card.

  • Thanks for that - used it on my purchase of Lego Mindstorms NXT and it worked beautifully.

  • just get my 72$ god of war 3 from fishpond today, 2 day before its official release, so one plus for it,

Hey did you get the Australian Copy or US?

      • it is Australian copy I think, with the stick from government, and zone 4 in the back.

  • Used it to get an xbox 360 wired controller for $39.99, minus $12 cashback from MS = $27 :-)

  • Super Mario bros for Wii $40.00 including postage. AWESOME deal! Thanks :)

  • omg just as i give this deal a +ve
i receive the items i ordered last week
    i ordered 1 x 1500 microsoft points and 1 x 3000 microsoft points….. and they gave me 2 x 1500 microsoft points in two separate shippments

  • Yeah, Fishpond might suck, but their suckage has been of some benefit to me. The "cash rewards" system is wonky, and I've not been credited for reviews and adding movie trailers twice now, and once I got $2 credit, and once $5 credit. Then a recent order was stuffed up and as compensation I got $10 credit.

So all up, including vouchers like this, it's been more than worth the hassle for me.

I got Heavy Rain off them for 70 bucks. It took like 2 weeks to deliver (which usually doesn't happen with their orders) so it was a hassle but it was a great discount.

Just like God of War III. I ordered it today for 71.99. I hope it won't take 2 weeks to arrive. Their stuff usually gets to my place by 3-4 days from the day I order.

      • -1

And I always worry if they are going to send Australian copies of the game. Like the God of War III cover shows the US content rating.

    • hopefully i get 10 dollar discount :D
then with this coupon ill get another 2 or 3 of the 1500 points card :D

Since it's not obviously stated anywhere that I can see, you can only use the voucher once.

  • Fishpond is fairly dodgy. I bought Bad Company 2 the other day for $62. Got the e-mail approved transaction, they took the money out of my account etc, then 5 days later an e-mail saying "We're sorry, but this item is out of stock". Then they offer me a voucher for $10 to "compensate". What about my purchase? Now they have it for $90, that's still $20 more than what I originally paid. That's a fairly blatant bait and switch in my book, seeing as there are $10 offs every second day.

EDIT: AND they still haven't refunded my money 6 days later

  • Received my order today for the two Professor Layton DS games. Despite what was advertised on the site (picture and description of Aussie product), what arrived was the UK version of "Curious Village" and the US version of "Diabolical Box" (the Aussie version is called "Pandora's Box").

I have lodged a complaint with Fishpond claiming false and misleading advertising, and am waiting for a response.

There are three reasons why I'm being nitpicky about this:

    1. They have a separate listing for "Diabolical Box" on their site, which is showing as "Currently unavailable"
    2. I don't mind the UK version so much, but I don't want the stupid dumbed down US version (even if the extent of the dumbing down is pretty much just the title - yes I'm that fussy)
    3. Trade values might be affected, or else shops might not accept the foreign copies, reducing it's value

    Caveat Emptor!
