Yes but what do you actually get if you don't resort to VPN etc.?

Amazon Prime video requires a DNS or VPN workaround. What happens if Amazon starts cracking down like Netflix is planning to (http://techcrunch.com/2016/01/14/netflix-says-it-will-crack-…)?

Netflix at least you can cancel any time.

    • I believe Amazon can't afford to do that.
Netflix has Netflix Australia/UK/India servers and hence will still make money out of all those major countries customers, if they crackdown on VPN customers.
But Amazon doesn't offer these services in other countries. Amazon will loose lots of Amazon Prime business if it does.
Honestly, even Netflix's crackdown (even if they do) might have very limited effect. Highly unlikely this would happen ….everyone loves incoming $$$$$

Highly unlikely even Netflix will be able to achieve it (or even intends to)

Until then i wouldn't worry. Either ways I pulled the trigger, lets see how beneficial does $8.70/month works out.

    • 1 year is too long - sign up with Amazon.co.uk instead and you can get Prime membership month-by-month.

You still need to use Getflix or a VPN to watch the shows but at least it's not a massive outlay.

  • Does Amazon screen GOT? Does it allow airplay from iPhone to appletv?

    • GOT is not part of Prime. You have to pay extra.

How is a deal not ordinarily available to Australia, a deal?

  • It gets you 20% off physical games if you preorder or buy up to two weeks after release now as well.

Assuming Prime still lets you ship overseas, could be handy for those who buy a lot, especially those big collectors editions.

  • Looks like a good deal even for Music, TV and cloud storage (which I assume is unlimited?).

  • When the hell is Amazon coming to Australia? Stop (profanity) around with your idiotic drones and set up shop here so I can impulsively buy shit I don't need.

I thought us ozbargainers already did that :-D

Amazon shipping all the way from Europe or the US is cheaper than local retailers, warranty and sales support is better, they don't charge until the item ships,
Amazon UK Blu Rays work in our region.

And they now have lockers all over Australia which are way more conveniently located to pick up than post offices and are open late.

      • Hmm. I should probably look into it. Thanks for the reply. :)

      • Can they ship to these lockers for free and you pick it up?
