Notice this special on page 6 of this week catalogue from Coles. I believe this is the cheapest price ever - not considering the freebies capsules usually included with machine purchased.

Try the reusable pods like Sealpod, then you can enjoy ground coffee at that price.
But do those work with Lavazza A Modo Mio coffee machine? Previous discussions in Lavazza deals seem to suggest not.
@ manic - But these are coffee capsules to be used for A Modo Mio machine, different than just ground coffee..?
Just saying its an expensive way to make the same coffee. I think a lot of people are not aware that pods are normally over $100/kg.
Finally a deal that goes with the https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/205926 free machines deal in August last year!!!! +1!

I'm still getting through the hundreds of free coffee pods Lavazza sent :-)
Lucky you. I got around 24 capsules and that's it.
16 pods per box x 2 free per machine… how did they send around 24 pods ;-)
I got so many after failed promoter sent some, then Lavazza set up new promoter… & resent them ;-)
@Infidel:
Around…I was too angry to count the no show boxes.@rawm:
You emailed Lavazza as suggested in the deal? They promptly sent out replacement boxes. Not too late to re-register your Lavazza machines for free pods. But I think we've discussed this before.
I believe this is the cheapest price ever
Cheapest? No. Still a great price.
DJs had $5 Lavazza Tierra Intenso pods - a dearer A Modo Mio pod than the ones Coles sell (bought a few) - good strong coffee I use for iced coffee,
& of course DS fire sale had $3 boxes, which turned out to be out of date. Typical Dick. Not many people got the pods from DJ actually.I got 2 packs and they were expiring in 2 months so that all cheap ones are clearing out due to the expiry date, not promotion.
Most would not have known about those pods, as were part of a bigger deal.
Bought 4, expiry days ago - but all used up in those 4 months ;-)
Have unwittingly bought expired stock at HN @full price - hassle waiting for new stock, then taking back.
Always check expiry date printed on box before buying! That's why I asked what is expiry date on pods in this deal. Coles stock should be fresh.
Yes you are right, not the cheapest price ever.. and have been on sale for $7/box previously at Coles, I think sometime back in October last year.????
The machine is also half-priced too :) I got a machine from work as part of my promo job and I am loving it!
See https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/230532 for it at about the same price but with 96 capsules included, plus http://store.amodomio.com.au/free-capsules for another 32 free capsules if you didn't get them when you registered your machine.
Just found out Lavazza has change the name and packiage of A Modo Mio pods, think this is the reason why Coles is discount these old package pods. I am assuming other retailer are going to mark down the price of these too. Wait to see who will go with the lowest. Finger cross
What is the basis of this 'just found out'?
Lavazza produce different pods with different packaging under their name for more than just this machine.
i visited their web yesterday. this is the link for your reference: http://m.lavazza.com.au/au/at-home/espresso-cappuccino/amodo…
Yes, found it. Thanks for answering. Didn't post below as I also only had the mobile link.
Only doubted your information as a few before had confused the pod packs, resulting in debate about wrong product. This time its very relevant.
Change in packaging may not be reason for price reduction. But its cheapest I know of from Coles / Woolies. As you said, look out for similar reductions. Woolies & Coles usually alternate specials.
Still got hundreds of free pods with 2017 expiry date to get through. So I only chase the more expensive packs on special, for a change in taste. First question to visitors… Do you drink coffee?
Time for another ☕
Ahhh!
Just Googled name change - confirmed on Lavazza site.
The new A Modo Mio capsules
From today A Modo Mio capsules are changing their name and look, but the aroma of your favourite blends stays the same.
Good Deal. But in terms of Per KG these Coffee Pod Businesses are hella expensive. Rather pay $20 kg for Beans, grind them fresh and extract <3.
People are interested in this deal if they already own one if these pod machines. We can't just poor ground coffee into it.
The cost of buying a new machine & grinder is absent from your calculation. That can be 'hella expensive'.
And then there's the higher maintenance & cleaning with non-pod machines. I've got free access to a grinding / non-pod machine in the office & am glad someone else is paid to maintain & fill it.
Some of us were paid up to $25 for the machine & 32 pods. Some bought a few more for the free coffee (& cash).
Pod users are generally a different market to non-pod users. Many make only 1 or 2 coffees a day. Grinding & using a non-pod machine takes longer, takes up more space, and costs more… That makes a non-pod machine less suited & cost more per cup for some.
I'll stick with my machine I got paid to have & lots of free coffee. The per kg cost including the machine is… negative in my case. But for those who are running out, now is the time to stock up on this deal!
Rather be paid to drink my ☕ <3
How did you get paid to buy a Coffee Machine? lol…
Coffee Machine ain't that expensive i have a 77 Dollar Sunbeam and a $60 dollar hand grinder, Find that it tastes alot better than the capsule coffee.
Up to $25 profit plus 32 free pods per machine deal in comment above. Bought a few, & Lavazza stuffed up & sent hundreds of free capsules ;-)
Hard to argue with the economics of being paid for machines & around a year of free coffee. Tastes good & easy to use.
For those who got that deal, we've got around $167^ more in the pocket than you when making our first coffees.
:) That will help pay for the dearer coffee delivery system.(^ Your costs of $77 + 60 + $5 of coffee + our $25 profit which included free machine & 240g free coffee) Even better off if bought more of that deal & sold surplus machines.
But normally, for those drinking more coffee per day, your economics stack up if you find a great deal on a non-pod coffee machine.
Only that great cash back deal & lots of free capsules made this system economically advantageous, at least in the short term.
I avoided any taste comparison between pod & fresh ground coffee taste etc. I'll consider it when I run out of free coffee. ☕ But by then there will be another profitable pod machine deal; )
@Infidel: Where do you get the $167?
@Tehcookiemonsta:
If a person bought the Lavazza deal, got the cashback & redeemed the free coffee pods (32x7.5g = 240g), they could have an extra $25 cash in their pocket plus have machine & coffee to make their first cup of coffee. To make your first coffee, you needed to buy machine, grinder & about $5 of beans for same amount of coffee at your prices ($77+60+5) resulting in paying out $142.
So the Lavazza deal person could start up their machine effectively $167 better off based on your calculations ;-)
That's why I suggested
"The cost of buying a new machine & grinder is absent from your calculation. That can be 'hella expensive'.". Well $167 more expensive in your case. But I don't think many consider that as they buy far more impressive & expensive machines.
(Inkjet vs laser printer have similar purchase price vs running cost economics. That's why I used to buy a few cheap machines for the spare ink & never buy expensive ink.)
Enjoy your ☕
But by the looks of it, I think I've had enough coffee already ;-)
That's still $58 per kg, vs $20 here: http://www.coles.com.au/catalogues-and-specials/view-all-ava…
