Panasonic Eneloop 4x AAA Rechargeable Batteries $13 Delivered @ Digital Camera Warehouse

1250

Yeah it's been much cheaper before, but given the 'current' state of dick smith, the future of eneloop deals is not something to be 'charged' about.

$13 delivered may not be too bad when you consider that it's priced at ~$15 C&C in DS's recent '1 day sales', and even higher on ebay,

I've come to give you a positive vote, because you're not very charged :(

    • +13

Dunno about you guys, but I'm pretty amped for this deal, let's hope it stays current for awhile

      • +2

I would be more juiced up for a AA deal…

        • +2

Ever since the demise of Dick Smith the Eneloop deal have been a little flat…

        • +1

be our new love to buy eneloop from after DSE is flattened.
prefer the tropical/chocolate colours/glisters pack though.

        • @serpserpserp: you flattened me on the line : )

      • +10

Watt I hope is they don't cell out too fast.

        • +3

I'd be re-volt-ed if they sold out fast, looks like I'll have to charge in and get one before they run out of capacity on these batteries.

        • +3

@montorola: All this commentary is electric!

      • +1

Replying to you so I can stay current on this deal.

  • -1

    What are these?

    • +2

OK, [checks…. Member Since 14/03/2012..], we need a sarcasm font.
For triple a's, nice, The Vikings at the airport only offer cheap prices on AA rechargables.

  • Wait, these are Panasonic, Made in Japan? Any difference to Sanyo made?

    • Panasonics are the newer ones, made in China.

      • +16
        • That was fantastic, mate to me you won the Internet today. Well done

        • Jesus, so funny

        • I got a migraine watching bloody china!

        • That was great im just trying to figure out why he said China All so many times

      • Is it always the case that Sanyo Eneloops are made in Japan while the Panasonic ones are made in China or can you only know by reading the packet?

        • +1

          Yes.

The single exception to this rule so far is the AAA Eneloop Pros featured here, for example.

Panasonic acquired the brand but not the actual plants in Japan. Fujitsu LSD NiMH batteries and Duracell NiMH batteries (a.k.a "Duraloops") are made in the same plants as the Sanyo Eneloops and some Amazon branded NiMH batteries are made in Japan as well.

        • @Amar89:

          Cool. Thanks :)

    • Any difference to Sanyo made?

Yeah, they're sh*t. It's basically the equivalent of Coles Brand Coca Cola calling itself "Coca Cola". The similarities end at appearances.

Aldi lsd rechargeable 4 pack is $5.99.
Surely buying these is a better deal, because even if they don't last as long just buy another 4 pack when the time comes and you will of saved $1.00.

    • I've bought the ALDI ones and they are crap… after 6 months of use my charger (powerex) fails to charge some of them and reports them as HIGH —

'The MH-C9000 features a high impedance tester which can screen for defective/damaged battery. Most consumer chargers on the market does not have this feature, and therefore will allow charging batteries not may no longer be suitable for use. Maha recommends that batteries triggering a "HIGH" error be disposed for safety reasons, as charging damaged batteries may result in overheating or explosions. However, if you feel the HIGH error is due to a false detection, try charging the battery first in another charger, or drain the battery first using the DISCHARGE mode on the MH-C9000. This is recommended only for advanced users.' quoted from http://www.mahaenergy.com/faq-c9000/

      • -1

6 months use doesn't mean anything if you don't state how often you were charging them.
I have been using them in a wireless mouse and remotes and they are still going strong after a year.
I may of only charged them about 4 times or less.
For the price I would definitely buy them again

        • I've used a set for the last two years, seem to be working fine.

        • In my case I charged them about once a week (used as motion sensor led light in hallway) so I got ~20 weeks use before they started to show problems - that said, if I used a timer based charger I probably would not have known any different and would still be using them potentially?

It might have been I had a bad batch (it happens)…

  • +1

aw im still looking for a set of eneloops with a charger :(

Havent been any deals on those in a while, dont have any eneloops so I need a set with a charger

    • +8

How can you be an Ozbargainer and not have any eneloops?

      • Sorry, I need to hand in my membership too. :p
The items I need AA batteries are my TV remote, and clock. Everything else runs on power/USB.
Therefore I can't justify spending $$$ on eneloops unless if they're on clearance.
What do you use your eneloops in?

        • +1

Toys, toy's remote controller, plus all those LED torches that have been on sale in OB and uses AA batteries.
          I have three LED torches - a cheap ThruFire 1xAA, a handy Fenix LD-20 2xAA and the awesome ThruNite TN-4A 4xAA.

        • @edfoo: Isn't that the ozbargain way… you have to have eneloops, so you have to have torches which use them, which are conveniently mentioned on ozbargain every so often also?! lol And eneloops are good for TV remotes also… particularly the 'lite' series. Most of my other stuff is also USB powered (hence solar charged). Except for the wireless mouse… is greedy so has 2 pairs of of 'duraloops' that get cycled monthly (cheaper than pro eneloops at the time & made in japan! wooho!).

    • +6

Don't buy Eneloops with its charger, instead buy better charger e.g. Maha or La Crosse.

      • +2

Bought the LaCrosse from eBay before but long wait from overseas.
Tried Nitecore from eBay. Cheaper, similar and does the job.

    • +1

Havent been any deals on those in a while

      04/01/2016 :)

  • -2

there are only 3 batteries in the photo?????

    ooh ahh glen mcgrath

    • +1

      wat?

    • You must have a huge blind spot in your retina :P

      • its okay when i zoom in. now i see 4.

before the middle 2 were bluring together as 1. zoom out and try it at home

  • Just ordered 1 lot, broke my eneloop virginity

    • +1

The first time is always the best.

      • +1

        or the worst

        • It's easier the second time! :-O

    • They never stop at 1

    • should've waited till they had cherry on special

      • Cherry isn't always the best, sometimes they just aren't ready

    • Is it as good as you expected?

    • -1

I hope you know you insert the eneloop in the charger

      • Only goes in one way right

        • Which input do you stick it in?

  • Why are these so popular on ozbargain? or is it just a meme?

    • +1

Don't you see!!! I have spend hundreds on batteries and chargers now I am superior as I can save money by recharging. now you non eneloop suckers have to constantly buy useless non rechargeable batteries. Over a 30 year period I will be better off financially.

  • Hmmm I bought 2 packs of the Pros not long ago… Tempting

    • Yeah got the pros for $13, so doesn't seem right to pay same for these

  • +1

Have too many AAA looking for AA :(

    • up vote!

      • -2

        Down vote

    • +1

Not possible. Are they still in the original packets? "Too many" is not a phrase I fully understand.

      • coz if they're still in their packet they're a collector's item??

  • +1

Where should one purchase the coveted enerloop charger. Preferablly a smart charger

    • Dick smit has it on special sometimes, got one for $30 with 4 aa's, but its not the charger you should get

      • Ummm

        • Thats what I was thinking… Dick Smith is the new bloody Mary of ozbargain :p

      • wonder who negged, the eneloop charges arent the best nor cheapest, dont know how to link other posts but someone said "Maha or La Crosse"

        • +2

I was going to expand in stating that your comment doesn't really warrant a neg, I just didn't want to bring myself in the firing line.

        • @docholliday:

Fair enough, but no one negged your comment, only mine, I only stated that the eneloop charger wasnt the best nor a bargain. Feel free to purchase it.

        • +2

          @punkman:

I wouldn't look too deeply into it. People are pretty quick to neg here and I don't think sarcasm is really picked up here either…. maybe a scorned consumer that is reliving repressed memories from you just mentioning the words dick smith made an ozbargainer lash out with their mouse and neg yo ass.

        • +1

          @punkman:
got ya back bro, you're in the green zone

        • +1

          @SlickMick:

          lol cheers

      • Have you guys wondered where Ozbargainers will go for Eneloop after DSE's eventual bankruptcy?

  • I've officially joined the eneloop club. Now fellow club members, where and which model of Maha/La Crosse charger should I buy? Any deals?

    • +2
      • Isn't lacrosse a sport :p

      • We are heavy users of Eneloops and have been using the La-Crosse from Amazon for a few years now and it's still going strong. Highly recommended.

      • Having had one for a few years the biggest bugbear I have with them is needing to do the paper clip jump start on some Eneloops that have been drained.

        http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?252424-La…

Also, occasionally if a battery in a slot says charge is FULL and you insert a new battery to be charged, it says the newly inserted battery is also charged. Power off and power on at the power point fixes this.

    • Got this instead. Cheaper and faster delivery, does the job in my experience. Choose your own seller as I did not look but just as an example.

    • I'd recommend the Maha C9000. Big and bulky but a very powerful charger and more capable than the La Crosse.

The Maha has Four independent channels with individual thermometers, up to 2A charge on all four batteries (good if your xbox controller goes flat), up to 1A discharge and lots of different modes (charge, discharge, cycle, refresh/analyze, break in). Limitations is that it only displays one channel at a time and the UI can take a few moments to learn (but still very simple imo). And it won't do lithium, but obviously most chargers won't.
      Review here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?386814-Te…

The La Crosse is more compact and simpler to use but less competent.

  • can you use the AA charger to charge AAA?

    • I got the eneloop smart charger, does both aa and aaa

  • I've been buying Turnigy LSD for a buck fiddy. They last way longer than Eneloops in my beard trimmer but i just have a standard dumbo charger so maybe thats why?

    • Nope, Turnigy LSD AAs are 2400mah, standard eneloop is 2000mah.

  • I'm guessing you'd only use eneloops for high power applications, and not things like remotes?
I have so often seen these deals, but can't really think of why I'd need them.
My cameras have their own batteries, so too does my phone. Oh what to use them for…

  • Hopefully Dick will get re-charged soon so it can pound out some more Eneloop deals.

  • Just changed to $17 for me, as I was adding it to cart…

  • Lucky i jumped in before they expired.

Was thinking of grabbing an 9 pack on Ebay for around $24

  • +1

I feel sorry for the person at the camera warehouse who now has to pack all these batteries.

  • +1

Has anyone received their order yet?

    • Nope, but remember this year is the start of a whole new order at Australia Post :-/ The PC-Byte micro-sds are just rocking up now, and I'm still waiting on a Oppo order posted 2 weeks ago…

      • Good point.
        Wonder how long then

      • I just received an invoice from them.
I assume they havent been shipped yet if they are just processing the orders.

        Pretty disappointing so far

        • Same here - got my invoice on 21 January 2016 at 10:25, and I paid for them on the morning this offer was advertised (13th Jan), so methinks their order processing slow has been slowed down a wee bit by the rush of eneloop bargain starved ozbargainers ;) I'm tentatively hoping for a delivery some time in 2016, but not holding my breath… if they are shipped in the relatively near future, they will probably travel from NSW to QLD via Pakistan knowing the luck I've been having with Australia Post's free scenic delivery service of late. (Personally: Metro QLD to Rural QLD via Netley SA??? And from a friend: Metro QLD to Metro NSW via Metro NSW and Metro QLD (constant backwards and forwards - it was a directionaly challenged parcel).

  • No invoice no nothing. Better have tracking too. This is becoming like a dud order.

  • Batteries came today.

1 month is a pretty poor experience considering they are around the corner from me

    • Deal was only posted on the 13th. So it's only been just over a couple of weeks.

      • Oops, my bad.
Dont know where i got those numbers from

    • Same here, so that's about a week to process the invoice, and another week for the post. And half of that second week was probably Australia post at that. So they're definitely sending them! Four brand new packs of 4xAAA (white,BK-4MCCE/4BA,10-2015,China), with one pack taking about 150mah of charge, so say at least 80% charged (more likely 90%) on arrival.
