Bargain. Pity about the crap catcher the plastic ones are better. Though can't go wrong with the Briggs & Stratton (4 stroke OHV) engine. This one: http://www.briggsandstratton.com/eu/en/engines/lawn-mower-en…

Since it's a 4 stroke mower you'll need some of this Castrol 4 stroke mower oil to put in the mowers oil sump. https://www.masters.com.au/product/900031074/castrol-4t-4-st…

Alternatively the Briggs & Stratton 4 stroke mower oil from Bunnings http://www.bunnings.com.au/oil-4stroke-briggs-stratton-1l-se…

  • Showing $299 for 3131. Any chance my local masters would price match Adelaide?

Probably not. Sounds like it's a store managers deal at the Adelaide Airport store. And there's no way in the first place they'll price match a store that's in another state.

  • What's difference between this and a $800 Honda mower?

    Cut is prettier? Or ?

    • Its bcoz Honda vtec just kic'd in yo.

The honda motors of old were very reliable so they have a reputable name and normally come with a price premium.

But for home use just get a B&S with 4 blades for trimming ease and a nice cut

Before Christmas, I got myself a Kogan 4 stroke lawn mower currently selling for around $300 so I think it is comparable to this one. Before I got my Kogan lawn mower, I was borrowing my brother's $1K+ Honda lawn mower so here are my observations between the cheap brands vs Honda:

      • Not as well-built and sturdy as the Honda. Felt more "flex" in the mower as I pushed it around.
      • Catcher mechanism not as well designed as the Honda; harder to put on and take off, grass clippings more likely to spill onto the ground.
      • Honda seems to control the dust and finer particles better. I was covered in dust after using the Kogan; much less dust when using Honda.
      • Seems to stall more easily than the Honda in more difficult sections of grass.

Overall, the performance of my cheap Kogan in cutting the grass is very similar to the more expensive Honda. Honda obviously has better design and more refinement.
