    Is it telstra 4G?

    • +1

      Hey arctan

TeleChoice currently uses part of the Telstra 3G network and Telstra has announced that a 4G mobile service will be available by no later than June 2016.

Telstra's current network footprint covers 98.8% of the Australian population.

      • And telstra has never been late with anything before right? /s

        • We'd hope they're early on this one ufoninja :)

  • is 8gb offer per month or is it just for the first month?

    • +1

      Hey Andy2,

This 8GB will be given to you every month of the 12 month plan.

  • Looks like Telstra 3G. "TeleChoice uses part of Telstra’s 3G mobile network."

    • Hey KnowingNothing,

Yes you are right there - TeleChoice currently uses part of the Telstra 3G network. Telstra has announced that a 4G mobile service will be available by no later than June 2016.

  • 3G coverage only? No 4G/LTE?

    http://www.telechoice.com.au/coverage

    • Hey Tantryl,

Yes, currently we are just using part of the Telstra 3G network. As mentioned above, Telstra has announced that a 4G mobile service will be available by no later than June 2016.

I am currently on a 24month plan with TC..Completed almost 18 months now…can i switch to this plan..if so, are there any catches?

    • Hey Bkoolrocks,

This offer will be available to existing customers but it will be dependant on your situation. Without having a look at your account I wouldn't be able to answer this one. Could you please email this question to [email protected] and someone there will be able to assist you with this.

  • +4

for $2 more 10gb & 4G better off with these Vodafone or Optus

    • +2

nothing beats Telstra for coverage…..I'm on the 8gb $50….but I'm tempted to jump ship and go to these guys

      • Hey Pichka,

It sounds like we're a little bit cheaper than what you're currently paying ;)

      • +1

Telstra are giving 7GB for $40/month now and $240 credit off a phone.

        • That too on 4G (possibly 4GX?)

        • @Trishool: Yeah I signed up and got $240 discount on a Z5, which supports VoLTE and 4GX.

  • "200 International Minutes". Can you please give the link to the list of selected countries.

  • after the 12 months do you still stay on the plan?

    • Hey Pichka,

Yes you stay on the same plan at the same rate. The Data does however reduce to 4GB (Which is the standard without the special offer)

  • +1

    Pretty good deal!

    • Hey Illumination,

We agree :D :D It's definitely out best deal we've had until this point.

  • If it was 4g then i am all over it, once you used 4g you never wanna go back to 3g

    • -1

      Hey Dreamzz,

You could consider it an investment! While we currently use parts of the (more than capable) Telstra 3G network, Telstra has announced that a 4G mobile service will be available by no later than June 2016.

      • -1

so 8GB on 4G will be only good for 6months then it goes to 4GB. Maybe the telstra 7GB is better now.

        • I think people are too harsh on 3G naira :p

3G is still very much alive and we don't think the experience really changes all that much unless you are tethering your device

  • if the 8gb continued I would have bailed

    • -1

      Hey Pichka,

We might have something even better for you to go on in 12 months! Can't rule that out :p

      • +2

Let's not dangle an invisible carrot.

  • I have been with telechoice for the past 9 months on the $20 plan. Can I switch to this?

Also will all telechoice users be upgraded to 4g in June or will that require changing plans again?

    • Hey ChillBro,

Yes you can switch to this, you will need a new SIM though (which is no hassel to organise, just email [email protected]).

When 4G come around TeleChoice users will be upgraded and you won't be required to change plans

  • +1

I just called Telechoice, this is only available to new customers. I was going to downgrade mine from the $49 and upgrade my wife's from her $20.

    • Hey Aventure,

That isn't enteirly true. We are offering it to existing customers if they are on eligible plans or if they are out of contract

Could you please forward your details to [email protected] and we will have a look into it

      • Just did. Thanks.

    • You should be able to port to another provider and then back in as a 'new customer'…

      • +1

        Hey f4te,

Unlike some other providers, we aren't discriminating against new and old. Our normal plan change rules apply to this new plan as they would to any other plan.

        • Sounds good :)

  • +1

Any news on that mobile app which was supposed to appear in Q1 of 2015? https://web.archive.org/web/20150412210000/http://www.telech…

Real-time alerts along with the TeleChoice mobile app can be expected to roll-out in Q1 of 2015 and will be available to all new and existing customers.

(Also real-time alerts are not available for customers on their old plans (i.e. existing customers), but that doesn't affect this deal.)

    • Hey f4te,

We removed that from our site as the app is no longer in development - it was replaced by the facility of checking our data in real time on our newer plans.

Fear not about your old plan - we are slowly moving everyone across to the new LIVE platform and in almost all cases you'll be able to remain on the same plan.

Keep an ear out, and if you want more info now please email [email protected]

Just moved away from Tc, network drops became all too regular (5-6 times per day) in places it used to work 3 months ago fine. Me thinks telstra aren't keeping aging infrastructure maintained… Just a warning.

    • lot of people think that….just make sure your phone is Telstra compatible…. 700/850/1800/2100 etc

      • Yes Pakkapie and Pichka,

Coverage can be affected by a lot of things. To anyone unsure if they are going to be able to get coverage in our area please check out our coverage map - http://www.telechoice.com.au/coverage

You can also sign up to a no-lock in plan to test the network out and then extend to a 12 month plan later

        • Note 4 so should be fine. Also same phone for 1+ year now

  • +1

    https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/plans-and-rates

rather take this and you keep the plan even after 12 months are up

    • Hey Pichka,

Fair enough - there are benefits to both plans, you ultimately make the choice thats best for you :)

    • not unlimited calls…plus no international calls included…

      • Depends what you need I suppose.
I rather the full 3G network + 4G than just part of 3G.

        • Hey Xsacha,

Just so you're aware - Telstra has announced that a 4G mobile service will be available by no later than June 2016.

        • @TeleChoice:

Can we get that in writing as evidence that we will definitely get it no later than june 2016?

        • Hey Josh,

These comments are from our official account so I would hope that's evidence enough :p

Otherwise email [email protected] and we'll help you out

        • @TeleChoice:
I'm aware you've said that here but that's still a 6 month wait.
Also, you only have partial Telstra 3G, so likely this means partial Telstra 4G as well? Is there any confirmation from Telstra of how much 4G they will give wholesalers?

  • +3

Reading the Web site info international texts and mms are not included and charged separately. ….

    • Hey WrightAnvil,

Yes you are correct. International text and MMS are not included on this promotional plan

  • +1

Great deal… and great customer service too! 12 months is a worthwhile investment. It's unfortunate that I just started a new contract recently… otherwise I'd jump on this in a heartbeat.

    • Hey Yongaz,

That doesn't necessarily mean you can't move. Give us a call or send us an email to [email protected] and we will have a look into it

  • Rude customer support. Never again.

As mentioned, go the 7GB Telstra plan for $40.

    • +3

This guy here doesn't seem too rude

      • I try my hardest illumination :)

I am very sorry that you have had a bad experience though togaboyau - that's not how we want these thing to happen I can assure you

If you have any feedback to provide us I emplore you to send it to [email protected] . Hearing from you is the best way we can improve ourselves.

      • While I appreciate the rep on here isn't rude, I am sure he has taken a social media 101 course and responds with text book 'hotielier who discovered the joys of TripAdvisor' responses.

        http://www.productreview.com.au/p/telechoice.html about sums up TeleChoice.

        • Can't disagree with that.
Some other reps (or just ozbargainers, for that matter) should take it too. Just to learn how to be nice. lol

  • Hey if it's only part of Telstra 3G (I assume the wholesale Telstra network) like Aldi mobile, I'm unsure if I would switch - the only thing that is reliable in my rural location is full 3G/4G like Boost. Is it the same Telstra network that Boost uses? Aldi mobile albeit on part of Telstra 3G, is unreliable at my location. Not being critical, just documenting my experiences.

    • Hey cim85,

You're on the money there - Aldi is a wholesaler just like us. Boost is a retailer owned by Telstra so their coverage is slightly different. Sometimes that's the way these things work!

      • Thanks for your quick response…..I wasn't trying to pick your bones clean, lol…..out in rural Vic (Gippsland) it's either Boost or Telstra for us. As you say that's the way it works at my location. Thanks anyway but I'll have to stay with Boost who I can't fault.

        • +1

          Hey cim85,

Not at all! We wouldn't want to try and sell you something you ultimately can't use where you are :p

  • got two existing $25 plans, due to run out of of contract in April…
emailed the support email address yesterday to see if I can swap them over to this, but havent heard back yet…

  • I received an sms from TeleChoice for this plan, so it should open to people still under contract.
Just a quick question, is the data charge per kb or MB?
Also how long it will takes for the new SIM after I reply to the SMS?
