You will also get half price access fees for your first month when you sign up to this plan online before 04/01/2015

    • That half price for the first month promo now expires on 26/01/2016(australia day?)

      • Yes, you are right, but you can only avail both offers - Bonus 10GB Data + Half Price for the First Month promo, if you join before 04/01/2015, because bonus data offer is expiring on 04/01/2015

        • yeah true. That means it's only available to time travellers ;)

I guess OP needs to update this deal's expiry date to 04/01/2016

Fantastic.. was waiting for something like this to come out~! great counter offer to Telstra's $40/Month for 7gb

  • +1

Bummer. I was waiting for VF to match Optus for about 2 weeks.

Just made the switch from Telstra to Optus yesterday on the 12mth, $40pm for 10 gig plan.

This is a great deal. Especially if you call overseas and travel, $5 roaming per day.

    Great deal OP.

  • Which is better, this or the Optus $40 sim deal on the 12 month contract?

  • Was hoping VF would match the Optus deal (appears they have now) but managed to negotiate $5 off the $45 plan (24 months though), so getting 12GB.

    • Was that with VF ??

      • +1

Yeah. Over the phone they'll offer $2 off. Anything above that involves heavy negotiation.

    • Can you provide a link to Vodafone's $45 12GB 2 year contract please?

        • Thanks looks like I'll be signing up to this one!!!

@Trishool: Don't forget $43 if you buy on the phone, and possible less (depends on operator and if you're an existing customer)

        • +1

@OzJD: Thanks, I'm a new customer so hopefully I can at least get it for $43 of not less!

        • +1

@OzJD: I just signed up via online chat today, got it for $40/month!!!! Stoked!!

        • @Trishool: good work my fellow OzBargainer!

I'm on $70 Phone Plan, which is about to expire in 1-2 months. I'd like to get this plan but as I recalled, Vodafone is not really keen on letting customers to downgrade their plan to lesser plan. Can any Voda rep confirm this?

  • Can't upgrade out of contract sim-only plan to this $40 online? I guess I'll have to try in-store then?

    • +1

I had the same issue, spoke to the online chat and they advised me to call up customer service and they would be able to update my plan.

      • awesome, thanks for that .. i'll give them a buzz later

  • It would be great if they offered 4g coverage where I live. I get nbn before I get 4g by Vodafone. Telstra and Optus are years in front.

  • Winning! signed up for the VF $40/mth 12-month sim only plan 2 weeks ago with 6Gb data total. Tried to negotiate them to match the Optus 10gb at the time, but they wouldn't budge. Rang them today and told them i was a happy customer, but that now i see they're matching the Optus deal. Anyway after being escalated to the upgrade team, they've done a free plan change over to the 10Gb plan :) Nice little xmas present, thanks Vf.

    Man I wish they'd just do like 1 or 1.5GB of data for $20 :/ I don't care what $40 gets me, I care what $20 does :/

  • Anyone managed to get this without 12m contract?

    • Without 12m commitment you will only get 3GB Data

  • +1

They ended up giving me 3 month half price on a 12 month sim only contract! Comes down to $35 per month for 10gb on average.

Got it because I told them their deal is inferrior to optus's deal cus optus has 300 international minutes they only have 90min.

    • Nice.. the bonus with Vodafone is if u go over the 90 mins the auto charge you $6 and give u 60mins
Optus when the 300 mins run out.. they charge you like $4 a minute for the over use.

      • +1

I wasn't aware of that but it's nice of the sales rep to give me this deal :)

  • Does anyone know if the 7gb bonus data is compatible with the $5 roaming? I can't seem to find it anywhere in the terms and conditions, and find everything a bit confusing as the site mentions the bonus data is for use in Australia, though with $5 roaming I should be able to use my phone like I would in Australia, including the bonus data etc?

    • Very good question. I am on 4 plus 4 and was not charged for going over 4 in the states. But my plan is not the same as this one.

      • $5 Roaming

If you're on an eligible plan, you can use your included minutes, TXT and data in over 50 countries for $5 extra per day.

  • can this data be shared? can existing customers change to this?

  • Is this the best value deal you can get at the moment?
