Samsung Galaxy A55 5G (128GB) available through Vodafone for just $5.62/month over 24 months ($134.88 total device repayments).
A Vodafone plan is required, but the best way to take advantage of this deal is by adding it to an existing plan, as no additional plan is needed.

Got this yesterday in store. The store person said it was most likely a pricing error.
Added it to my existing plan already with Vodafone. No additional plan is required.

Device Pricing Breakdown:
  • Device Monthly Payment: $29.12
  • Device Payment Terms: 24 months
  • Device Cost: $699
  • Device Discount: $23.50 per month for 24 months

Final Total: $134.88 over 24 months

Key Details:
  • Model: Samsung Galaxy A55 5G (128GB)
  • Total Device Cost: $134.88 over 24 months (when added to an existing plan)
  • Plan Requirement: Must be included with a new plan or added to an existing Vodafone plan

  • Cheaper than the 36-month option that Vodafone defaults to online and advertises in-store (which is still a great deal).
  • Normally a ~$600 phone, but adding it to an existing plan reduces the total device repayment to just $134.88 over two years.

Device Discount

Device Discount is a discount off the device RRP and is only available to eligible new and upgrading customers who purchase a device with a device repayment period of 12, 24 or 36 months, and sign up or upgrade, and stay connected to an eligible Consumer Postpaid Mobile Plan (‘Eligible Plan’). Device Discounts vary depending on the device (as advertised), and some Device Discounts may only be available when you stay connected to an Eligible Plan over 24 or 36 months (ie. some Device Discounts may not be available for a repayment period of 12 months). Not applicable for customers purchasing a device outright. The Device Discount will apply for the length of your chosen device repayment period (12/24/36 months). If you cancel your plan or your device repayment, your Device Discount will be forfeited, and you must pay out your device on your next bill at the undiscounted rate (i.e. 100% of remaining device repayments at full RRP x months remaining). Device Discount will not be forfeited if you rate plan change but will be forfeited if you change to an ineligible plan, such as a SIM Only plan. Your monthly device repayments may vary depending on your chosen repayment period (12/24/36 months) and are applied as a monthly recurring credit against the device repayment. Device Discount is subject to change and not a permanent offer. You can only have one Device Discount per service at any one time. After your device repayment period has ended, your Device Discount will also end but your monthly plan costs will remain.

If you wanted to do a cancellation deal it would be an additional $49 for a plan.

    $183.88 outright

    • +7

      That is wrong and misleading.

      The terms and conditions specifically mention;

Device Discount is only available with 24 o4 36 month plan
By cancelling the plan, you forfeit your discount and you owe the full RRP of the device on your next bill.

Do not do this unless you'd like to pay an additional $698.88

      • It says nothing about undiscounted RRP in the CIS. Cheeky. Good catch!

        • +1

idk what CIS stands for in this case
but when you choose the plan there is a terms and conditions drop down

@The Milk Man: only know this CIS

@RTX9090Ti: I tried to google it to not be such an imbecile
but only CIS Gender came up 😭

          • @The Milk Man: Critical Information Summary. Sorry, I'm presuming everybody has read it after the JB Hi-Fi pre-order deals lol

If you add it to cart, and then progress to plans, the CIS is available on that page. Here

Here it just says you need to repay the handset repayments. Nothing about discounts

$1,310.88 minimum cost over 2 years or $747.88 outright

Horrible deal for a mediocre device?

  • Can we add the phone without a plan to an existing plan?

    • +1

Eligible plans only, for the period terms mentioned, unfortunately.
You cannot add this to a Sim Only existing plan
To reiterate, the post abive mentions they added it to an existing plan

if they had the standard 2 year plan, they can probably renew it for the 24 month contract, it is not added to an existing and you will have to have a plan while paying off this device

    • +2

Yes, I added this to my existing plan. No need for a new plan if you are already with vodafone.
I have 1 Plan with 3 phones on it.

      • Can you add on 1 year prepaid plan?

      • I tried adding it to my existing plan online but i have to select a plan. Did you called them?

        • I did it in-store.
It was processed as an upgrade to my existing phone.
Suggest calling or going in-store. I find in-store is the best.

          • @mortgagebroker: I tried in-store as well but they said i would have to pay 50% discount which i get on my existing plan for iphone 16.

    From the Vodafone website:
"What happens if I cancel my service before the end of my device repayment period?
If you cancel your service early, you need to pay out the remaining balance of your Mobile Payment Plan at the undiscounted RRP as you’re only eligible for receiving the device discount if you stay connected with us on a selected plan for the full device repayment period.

The remaining balance is calculated by taking the undiscounted RRP divided by your device repayment period (for example 12, 24 or 36 months) and multiplied by your remaining months."

Not a great deal unless you are on a sim only plan and intended to stay for next 2 years.

    • +2

In which case it's a great deal.

    • That would be like 80% of Ozbargain, no?

  • +5

Good deal for those with an existing plan.

  • How does this compare to the A35?

Edit: better. Both released at the same time but better.

RRP A35 is ~$500 atm, (was $99 with all the amaysim 3G shutdown thing last year), so this is A55 is pretty decent @ 135 if you are definitely have an existing voda plan and are definitely goijg to stock to it for the next 2 years.

Pretty specific deal but +-ing as it's good for whom it's good for (not me this time around).
