  I have a good desktop computer which needs a hard disk now as the previous one blewup.
  Do you recommend this to use in a desktop too or is this more suitable for NAS. I want to find something cheaper. 1TB is good enough for me. Any recommendations ?

    For pure media and file storage it's fine.

    Running games or programs off it will be a b*tch (especially anything procedurally-generated), and I certainly wouldn't make it the OS drive.

    With SSDs so cheap these days there's no excuse not to have at least a 480/500/512GB SSD in a new build to handle your games/programs workload and then a cheap HDD for dumping everything else onto.

      Thanks. I will look for a cheap SSD and a HDD.

      So many choices for internal HDD but compared to external ones these are not cheap.
