What can you do with a VPS?

A VPS functions nearly identical to a dedicated server, with full root access. You can run your own scripts, schedule tasks, write and run programs, etc. Commonly VPS hosting is used to host websites, run private VPN with a dedicated IP, share files, and to run personal clouds. The uses for a VPS are limitless!

    a legally registered company

As opposed to an unlawfully registered one?

    • -2

A lot of web hosts run without any legal registration as they are run by kids who don't even know what tax is. This is just them saying they are a registered business as it instills trust that they aren't just going to run away.

      • This is just them saying they are a registered business as it instills trust that they aren't just going to run away

        NO, it is not.

The OP could have said "HostUS is owned and operated by HostUS Solutions LLC, a company registered in, and operating out, of Delaware, USA."

    • I guess I should have explained it more clearly; it's opposed to unregistered online businesses as @Trewq mentioned.

Yes, nothing to do with legality of the company registration.

  • This looks pretty appealing, I'll probably check it out.

One of the most appealing things with Vultr and DigitalOcean is the hourly billing and ability to quickly destroy and create VPS' on the fly. Is all the provisioning here automatic? If I only want to play with a VPS for an hour then destroy it, do I get charged for a month?

    • Orders are usually provisioned within 1 hour after payment. All our services are billed monthly/quarterly/annually etc depending on the billing cycle of your choice.

    • Also KVM.

could you give is a fixed price in AUD rather than USD.. would be a great deal if you could

    • +1

I'm pretty sympathetic to the exchange rate, but being a U.S. company we only bill in USD.

That being said, you will be paying less AUD for your service when the exchange rate picks up :).

… or more when it drops :(

        • +1

You can pre-pay annually if you would like to lock in today's rate for the next year.

  • Keen to find out vCPU Core specs. Amount vCPU per VPS without specifying specs like type of CPU and speed is pretty much useless as it doesn't provides me clear picture of processing power your company would like to offer.

  • LowEndBox entry of the same deal. Looks like there are some happy customers.

    • Thanks Scotty, we've lots of happy users in other locations and we are looking for some feedback from Australia! :)

  • Might want to fix "Techical" Specs on https://hostus.us/reseller-hosting.html

    • Nice catch, fixed.

  • Any chance on doing a deal on a non-SSD 'storage' VPS? I'm looking to use it for offsite backup, so I don't need fast storage.

    • We don't have plans for non-SSD storage right now, as it costs more to host HDD's in larger / more power hungry chassis.

I can probably give you a deal on storage dedicated servers in Los Angeles though.

  • For anyone interested here is the ServerBear benchmark for the 2GB VPS

    UnixBench score: 2733.3

    I/O rate: 472.0 MB/second

    Bandwidth rate: 102.0 MB/second

In comparison to Vultr 2GB VPS based in SYD

    UnixBench score: 2124.0

    I/O rate: 420.0 MB/second

    Bandwidth rate: 98.8 MB/second

Looks the goods for a cheaper price!

    • I'm actually surprised that our 2.4GHz cores outperform Vultr's 3GHz+ E3's (or they don't give you these cores anymore)?

      Thanks for your business!

      • Vultr does not provide any more 3Ghz cores. Big issue among the existing Vultr users.

So far everything is looking good. Maybe a few more Application templates would be nice, or Bitnami integration would be great!
