    • The 10% off you could use 5% cashrewards. Not for this one.

  • Can this be stacked with the 10% from Chemist warehouse?

  • How do we get cashback if purchasing via the app?

    • You can't

      • +8

Andrew from Cashrewards here. Groupon has confirmed purchases made via the app will earn cashback. Firstly, ensure the Groupon app is installed on your mobile, but do not open it yet. Open your mobile browser instead and click through to Groupon via the Cashrewards site. You will be prompted to open the installed app, or it will open it automatically for you. Shop as normal. Any questions, please ask.

Really?App purchase can be tracked via click on a web browser?

        • +1

@Neoika: haha. This is more error-prone than site to site redirect.

You need to use 'mobile' browser to cashrewards. Basically any browser on your phone/tablet but make sure they DON'T request page in desktop mode.

When cashrewards detect you coming from mobile device and asking for mobile pages, it will kick off groupon app instead of groupon site when you click Groupon.

Assuming the same tracking details are passed to the 'App', rather than through URL.

Now you normally lost tracking details if you do lots of 'extra' things in the browser.

For the App, if the App somehow lost the tracking, you won't get rewards.

Browser technology are way more mature than App technology, so you are more likely to fail getting rewards through App.

        • Good to know, thanks Andrew

        • Hey Andrew, I tried to open Groupon through CR but it goes straight into the mobile site without asking me to choose.

It would let me choose if I don't go through CR.

        • I'm not being prompted to open the app; I get a new (mobile) browser tab that's directing me to the Groupon mobile site.

I've tried with both the Groupon App running (in the background) as well as not running; at no stage did I get a prompt.

          LG G2 Mini (rooted device)
          Android 4.4.2
          CM Browser 5.20.12

        • Alright, for those who don't get prompt to open in app here's a manual workaround.

          • Login to CR/PP
          • Open the store link and get's redirected to their mobile site with tracking code
          • manually type in m.groupon.com.au/intercept
          • choose to open in app
          • make your purchase

In theory, this makes no difference comparing to groupon's auto redirection.

Shame about the gift card exclusions, only thing I'd really want

  • The Vodafone vouchers seem to have sold out. A pity, I wish I had bought more of them.

  • This should be made cheaper then:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/223055

  • Doesn't work for my local Indian, Indian Whisper, Runaway Bay although its not on the exclusions list .. :-( .. !! Bait and switch??

    • You using it through the app?

        Oops .. missed that part .. thanks .. :-) .. !!

  • Has anyone tried making a purchase? I keep getting error messages after the payment section :(

I made one last night. IPOH kitchen on York St, $5.95 for laksa. Cheap

Make sure you're on the app

  • Dang it, can't open app from Pricepal redirection. It automatically goes to the mobile site.

  • Could someone kindly explain exactly how Groupon works?

Is it only in-store, or online purchases as well?

I'm in rural NSW so wondering if this is worth bothering with.

  • Website say 'Sorry, the code can't apply to this purchase. Check the code's rules.' when trying to purchase for Xtreme Ice Arena. Can't see the business in the GIFT15 T&Cs.

Never used Groupon before, am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: Didn't read the title of the deal… ignore/delete please.

  • Any big w or chemist warehouse gift cards left? Doesn't seem to come up for me.
Ps. I know that they're excluded from this deal.

  • Doesn't work for BigW e-gift cards.

  • i'm on the app and i keep getting an error…? sorry, gift code is not applicable to the purchase at this time… this is on the page with quantity, payment method and promo/gift code options.

    • +1

Have you used the code on your account already?

      • Nah, but I figured out why - i'm trying to use it for luna park, which is excluded. All good. Bought a kayak instead. ayy lmao

  • With the app is there any way to buy multiple items in 1 transaction? Like adding a few things to cart and use the code in 1 go? I can't seem to find that.
