  • Are they available in store

  • Sometimes they do sale for $50 I got one last year and good machine but not the best.

    • That wouldn't be this machine, but the superseded model (S14 or S21).

      • Yes you are right sorry for the misguided information :-(

  • any impressions of someone who's used one?

  • delete

  • I picked one up. Seems pretty good.

Not much stock around. My local didn't have one so I had to go to the next closest one.

    • How would you describe the kind of milk it makes?

Is it like all other cheap machines that make a bubbly, watery mess? Or is it closer to the thicker, creamier foam that you get from an actual steam wand on a proper machine?

      • +2

My old s20 died this week, did a OzBargain search, and found this. Rushed out and got one, drinking the first cuppa right now. We have a very decent coffee machine at work, and this come very very close to it. The milk function is a great step up from the s20, and the foam is thick and rich and plentiful to the extent that I think I will wind it back a bit in the settings.

I like it a lot. Recommended!

        • Thanks for the reply - I've actually since bought one in order to secure this bargain, but am yet to open it in fear of it being subpar……but I suppose such fears can be alleviated and I'll crack it open!!

        • @Strahany:

How did it go? I'm contemplating whether to get the s22.. i've been waiting on the s21 to go on sale as I bought the nespresso inissia recently so i already hadt he milk frother…. and the s21 is alot smaller.

how are you finding the s22 coffee quality and overall it seems to have alot more parts to take apart and clean/remove than the older, smaller caffitaly machines - particularly when you're in a hurry for a cuppa in the morning.

          Feedback? :)

        • How do you change the milk froth settings anyway?
I bought one and so far the only drawback I can find is the amount of froth! I can't seem to find anything in the instruction manual.
          Thanks in advance man!

        • @Jessei1:

I think you can't adjust the amount of froth?? I think it might be set. I dont know if you can even get unfrothed heated milk as a setting? Anyone able to clarify?

Any deals currently on pods for this machine?

  • I think this deal expired as I was looking at it… product not found now. :'(

    • i still get it when clicking on the link.

      • I picked one up in store today

        • Yeah, me too. Browser must have been passing weird search string.

  • Thanks OP. Went to a Woolies today and bought one. Two still left in Midland WA.

A lot of the various types of pods are on sale too, some as much as 50% off.

  • To those that have now purchased this machine, how is it? how does it compare to others. I can get the Map Caffitaly machine for 50$ or a Lavazza A Modo Mio Caffe Latte machine for 85$. What would you recommend. Is the S22 going to be that much better than a Map Caffitaly machine.

Caffitaly or nespresso for pods? which are the better range to have?

    • +1

Mine's pretty cool so far, 2 coffees. I have Nespresso one at work to compare to, and parents have a Caffitaly at home.

Promo material says Caffitaly pods are best, I think it's slightly better than the work one yes.

My biggest plus is I don't have to mess around with a milk frother on the side.

      • I too got the $50 map caffitaly machine from coles - i assume you mean velocissimo? I haven't opened it as I was hoping the s21 would be for sale from woolies for christmas!! Now the s22 is on sale I'm not sure whether to go with this or not….

does anyone such as StickMan - who have usedt he machine - find the constant cleaning a pain with the machine? I was watching the maintenance video and the instruction book and just the milk jug has several components you have to remove to wash, clean, reassemble etc. Not life threatening but seems abit more complicated when your in a hurry compared to the nespresso frothers where you just wash the inside…

Just got the nespresso inissia while on sale at the good guys in recent week or two so contmeplating getting the s22 for use with my map capsules.

        • Cleaning isn't much of an issue, probably easier than milk frother machines. Just press 'single shot' to give the main machine a rinse (which you should do to all machines), and milk section has a switch and it'll self-clean. Then you're good to put container in fridge. Pulling apart the milk container section is maybe once a week?

        • @StickMan:

Ohh so you only disassemble the milk frother head parts and coffee dispenser every week or so and for day to day use just dispense a shot of water and click the self cleaning milk frother button??

I assume then can just throw the milk out if you dont plan to use it by tomorrow and rinse quickly with water and it's done?

Once you flick the frother to self clean its automatic?? Does frother have an adjustment for amount of froth btw? Or one fixed froth level?

        • @SaberX:
Correct - manual says deep clean at end of every day, but I did mine after a week, it's fine.

Correct - just pull off top black part and rinse out container, done.

Yes, self clean mode is automatic, just flip switch back when done. It takes 5-10secs. No adjustment on frother.

      • Does this machine take nespresso pods?

        • +1

No Nespresso is much smaller pod.

        • @StickMan:
          Ok thanks for the info

  • Just saw this in woolies on sale with no stock :( Heard there's no further stock due to a train derailment and some stores I rang in Perth wouldn't allow rainchecks. Although I got one from the local store. COnflicting things about 'not getting in anymore' from those that wouldn't give rainchecks etc.

It's still online though, so wondering whether to click and collect? I was waiting for the smaller s21 to go on sale for the close to $50 price that they used to clear the older models for. Do you reckon they'll put this for sale or I should just take the plunge and get the s22?

Does anyone have the physical measurements though of the machine? As it looks quite big compared to the s21 (I previously had a s14)

  • By the way how did the OP find out about this special back on 2 dec, i notice the latest publicly advertised catologue began from 9 Dec. Do online sales start earlier/people just browse and see its on special?

Otherwise is there a way to create alerts so that say if the s21 went on sale before christmas, one could be alerted to that?

    Thanks.

P.s. Is there any extra charge to click and collect this in store for when stock returns?

    • +1

I actually found out about it when I was ringing around local Woolworths looking for the S21. Two stores I called had no stock, the third did and the guy just happened to mention that the S22 was on special.

Had he not mentioned this, I would have bought the S21 and would have been severely pissed off once I found out about this deal later lol.

      • ahhh so then the stores had the sale up well before the weekly catologue came out it seems?

Did you regret getting the s22? I too want the s21, alot smaller…. does the cleaning/disassembling of the s22 and the size make you regret not holding out for a s21 on special? Although if the're promoting the s22 probably fat chance they'll sell the s21 on sale anytime soon… :(

  • Does anyone know if this deal is still current?
    Thanks in advance

    • May not be Vander. But if you can locate a machine I have a raincheck slip for it if you want. THink you can use it/no id??

  • Went to pickup the machine this morning at click and collect and they had the s21 red half price at my local store!!! Argh talk about luck. Originally i wanted that but they were discounting this larger, more expensive s22!!

Still not sure whether to return it (the s22) and downsize to the s21… does anyone who has used both have an opinion? I have the nespresso inissia so it has a frother already… only advantage of the s22 is the milk jug can fill a few cups worth right, if your entertaining???

Otherwise if i downsize to the s21 you could just use the nespresso frother to do milk and avoid cleaning the milk jug of the s22?
