    Rep, would you happen to know why the nutritional information for most of them are identical?

    Pow Wow is listed differently I assume because it is sweet, but I would have thought that the others would have differences.

      Hello Sam,

      All of the Nutritional information is the same with all except Powwow which has brown sugar added. The adding of brown sugar changes the dynamics of the nutritional information. The other Flavours have the same base ingredient with different spices which doesn't change the overall Nutritional value.

    Hi Rep can you please advise me, last time I bought only flamin arrow, and I did not like that it had a very strong soy sauce flavour, so my question is do your other jerkey varieties also come with that same base of soy sauce flavour?

      I would like to get other opinions as mine is a bit bias BUT I don't think that Sidewinder as a hot one has a real soy taste. Same as buckshot and Powwow.

        hmm I don't really trust you :P I'll admit that the texture and mouth feel of your jerkey is way better than biltong snapsticks, but I can't forgive the soy flavour which completely masks the flavour of the meat in Geronimo flamin arrow, while biltong does well in that you can taste the meat above all else, but the texture is quite bad, very plasticky. Where is the perfect jerkey at…

      Howdy Beethoven-

      Jerky and Biltong are like hotdogs and hamburgers :-) Both taste nice but are completely different.

      Our jerky is made of beef strips cut with the grain then marinaded, laid out on racks and dried for 14-18 hours. We reduce the weight by 66+ percent taking most of the moisture out but leaving the good flavour inside. We have a six month shelf life due to the drying method and lack of moisture.

      Biltong (South African) can be made from various beasts but most of the stuff you get in Australia is made with beef. Traditionally it is done in a slab and hung up to air dry. It is then sliced giving you a moist meat snack. If Biltong isnt treated properly it has a better chance of going off due to moisture.

    Got some to try in the last deal. The ones with chocolate habaneros were nice on the way in, not so much on the way out… Curry ones were nice, as was original.

      I have about 5 packets of the habanero flavour that I won't be eating. Its a shame that my stomach can't handle it :(

      If you just chew it quickly and swallow, yeah. It's nothing special. Go get some Jack's Links or other similar "jerky" and enjoy.

      This is real jerky. It's almost like half way between a steak and chewing gum. You need to give it time to coax the flavours out. Enjoy it slowly.

        I try and explain this to people all the time when they ask me what all the fuss is about jerky, only to try it and say it's flavourless.

        Definitely agree it's all in letting it soak in your mouth for a while to extract the most taste. A packet also lasts a hell of a lot longer too. I find I just bite off the smallest corner and just let it soak in my mouth until I can't chew it anymore.

        Anyway your tongue maybe way more sensitive , I ain't.
        I can feel the soy sauce however.

        Anyway I just reccomend it for the unsensitive tongue like me.
        Just want to advise them so they can get what their money worth

    I bought 30 packs from the last deal and in my opinion I did not enjoy the taste of these flavours. The only one I found okay was the Pow wow. I had seen such positive reviews on ozbargain about this brand of jerky being the best they've ever had. My bad for not just getting one of each to try.

      Are you addicted to sugar at all?

      Pow Wow has plenty of sugar in it and so do most supermarket jerkys. Its not normal.

      You can't exactly not enjoy this jerky to some degree, its just dry meat at the end of the day.

        Its just a preference. I think its okay to not like it? I have given it to friends to try and they did not like it either. I prefer Chinese jerky from the asian grocers.

          You can add sugar to most food to make it taste better, it doesn't make it a superior product.

          Its kind of like saying water tastes bad because sugar flavoured water tastes better.

          I don't even understand what you're getting at. I'm just stating I regret purchasing 30 packs without having tasted them before. I didn't like the flavours and I think I'm allowed to not like what the majority of people find amazing. Why would you even use that analogy. I'm comparing beef jerky to another type of beef jerky that I prefer.

    Just looking at the nutritional information - the sodium levels seem really high to me. I suspect that it's part and parcel of the way jerky is made, and I guess it's up to each individual to moderate his/her intake. Still, would be great to hear your comments on this.

    Also a question - does your jerky contain any 'undesirables' like MSG, sodium nitrate and/or sodium nitrite?

      Sodium intake isn't relevant for most people especially in short periods.

      If you were to eat bags of this a day for 6 months then I would consider if that level of sodium is healthy, otherwise I don't see the issue.

      or you can get any other quantities of the 40g packets but you wont get as good of value if you are including post
