NewsgroupDirect Usenet Provider Sale - 2TB Blocks for USD $55 Normally USD $150

50

Previous 2TB deals have been $60 or $70

Block Usenet Plans
"Block usenet accounts are for you if you don't use usenet on a daily basis. They give you the power to decide when to buy and how much to buy. Blocks never automatically renew. Block accounts never expire and can be shared with your friends."

All block plans include:
2082 days retention
No Expiration Date
50 SSL Connections
Free Headers & Compression
Share With Friends
Ghost Path VPN ($5/mo)

NGD is not the greatest as they are a High Winds reseller, but this is about the cheapest block deal available. Most items listed on your indexer of choice will still be available. I use them as my primary with Astra as my backup. Astra is USD $50 for 1TB.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2015

  • It is supposed to end at 11:00am Eastern Summer Time, but they plan to extend in a little longer.
    Now extended until 1:00pm.

    • thanks for post

though with drop in AUD, it properly similiar price to when it was on special for $60-70

      • I looked at that, it cost me more the last two times I topped up, so I added 4TB.

        • how much did it cost back then in AUD?

So u just added 4TB now with this deal?

        • @tyler.durden:

USD $55 is Au $76 now, I paid USD $70 in July at basically the same conversion rate, based on where the currency is going and my usage rate, it seemed lie a sage bet to get 4TB.

  • Are there other providers with better retention rate?

    • +2

No idea, retention rate is not usually the issue, DMCA's are normally what will kill something first.

  • Good deal! I switched to these guys from AstraWeb when it was $70 for 2TB. Haven't had any issues, speed is very good too (if not better!).

  • I've been having issues with incompletes on Astra web probably DMCA but it seems to be quite widespread and random. Would this be a better option?

    • They're on a different Usenet backbone
      http://www.usenet-providers.net/newsgroup-resellers.php

IMHO Tweaknews is one of the best for completeness/slower to remove DCMA flagged content.

      • Tweaknews was good but were bought out by highwinds about 6months ago.

        • oh there ya go! Have you found they've gotten worse? I haven't noticed any difference, but I have 4 different block providers, include newsgroupdirect, it's been awhile since I've had any incompletes.

        • @supabrudda: i havent noticed too much as i try not to grab things too old. I have noticed that they tend to still have the missing parts that have been removed from my thundernews (also highwinds) account on the odd file

  • Has it expired?

  • I use tweaknews and usenet.farm as a block account… Never have any issues.
