Timex Runtrainer GPS 2.0 Watch $58.39 @ COTD (Club Catch and Visa Checkout Required)

100

Timex sports watches and heart rate monitors are great (I've owned a couple before). This model includes GPS too, which is excellent for pacing / systematic training. I've never seen one with these features at this price point. Hattip to Spackbace for posting the (hugely upvoted) $20 off $30+ spend on Visa Checkout discount.

  • difference to this - GPS?

    • +1

No gps on that one. I've owned the oversize men's version of that one. It's a good watch too. I paid something like $120 for it about 2 years ago. It recently died. That seems to be about the lifespan of these hrm's, even if you replace the battery.

  • Thanks OP. Also grab a pair of Kayano 21 for around $70 delivered. (store credit+Visa+CC).

    • Yeah that's a super price on those shoes but they're not for me (I've had a pair and didn't like the fit).

  • Attractive price but reviews on Amazon are varied.

  • Most gps watches are 300+ and a quick google search shows this one goes for 200+

    Good deal

    • Bought earlier. The colour of buttons are in yellow instead of orange. ? Difference.

  • I bought this on impulse due to the great price, but have since cancelled the order due to limited storage capacity and poor battery life mentioned in reviews. It's definitely not suitable for the multi-day hikes I had in mind when I bought it :(
I guess for the price you can't expect too much…

    • I will use mine for fun run, triathlon and marathon training. You're right battery life didn't seem great, but that's true for many GPS watches.

  • "movement type: Filipino"

Huh? That caught me off guard

  • quick question - if you have a fit bit and an iPhone, do you still want one of these?
I bought one. But think about it. I had a fit it which can check out heart rate. iPhone can give GPS location with map or some running app.

  • Depends if you always carry your phone when running. I don't like to carry my phone if I can avoid it. Also this will hopefully give you live distance and speed, which Im not sure if fitbit does?

  • Gee…I prefer other exercise than pure running. don't know why I bought it. Now I have to start and suck it up.

Bought it thinking it will go well with my sneakers. Also I like the runners' body but don't like the repetitiveness.

Running is awesome. Once you start it's v addictive. Sign up for a fun run. Train on a scenic route away from cars. Log your runs.
