during overseas travel and travel insurance issues-
well, rather than carrying around a $14,000 engagement ring (as valued by insurance company) and $300 wedding rings, you can can buy a $1.50 engagement and wedding rings from aliexpress.
if you lose them, or someone mugs, you then no problem.
word of warning - the $1.50 engagement ring will get more positive comments from female friends than the $14,000 ring.
Funny you should say that about aliexpress… I lost my wedding ring - and had made a silly decision years ago when we were married, which ring to get. It hurt my finger/hand. So I rarely wore it. Then we moved house and I lost it somehow. Anyway, weeks ago I bought a plain gold band from aliexpress. Wrapped a piece of paper around my finger first and measured it. Then ordered two different sizes… A bit over $1 each - delivered! I thought the gold would wear through to whatever metal is underneath, that it would scratch, twist, etc. But I've been really surprised that it seems to be quality. And apart from moving it forward on the finger for a while after showering (to give the finger a rest and dry the skin), I haven't taken it off.
I used to wear an eternity ring … useful (back then anyway) as a tool to ward off. It was easier and nicer, or so I thought, to say sorry; I am spoken for. Could always switch hands as I pleased, but eventually wore it on my right hand; I did like the ring and my ex did not want it back, saying it was a gift. Another story; but some people can be civil when they break up … still in touch today.

I used to wear it on my right hand as I did not marry … (never officially engaged either) and other party has surely long forgotten? Unfortunately one of the three tiny diamonds (was verified as real!) was lost many years ago. No longer fits either … any ideas?

I ordered one more than 2 years ago to get a ring for my then GF.
It still hasn't arrived.
That sucks, I ordered on when I was in my final years of high school (when I was getting in to rings) and it got here by the end of the month.
