  • do you have your ebay store link ??

  • +3

Not to discourage the OP, this isn't a deal when one can get it for 9.99 delivered on eBay, even way less if one forgoes the packaging.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Original-Genuine-Apple-Lightning-…

    • Some people want the packing
      Each to their own

      • +1

The one I linked to comes with packaging. Sorry your offer is not a deal.

    • +1

There are extremely good fake cables out there - they replicate the packaging and all. The cables look 1:1, the only way to tell if its a fake is to open it up and examine the chipset.

Ordered similar before and will not order again.

      • our cables comes from the Apple centre.

We have had other customers similar to you, take our cable to apple to get the necessary verifications.

We are a government accredited supplier in QLD - no way will be alive if we sold copies.

        Not in this case.

The packaging identifies these as countefeit.

I was fooled once, then the Apple store showed me the way to identify the fake packaging.

The cables are, of course, counterfeit as well, and Apple spotted the differences in a second.

        • before accusing and trying to create a bad name for us… buy one. take it to Apple and let the public know your result.

        • @etronicsworld:

before accusing and trying to create a bad name for us… buy one. take it to Apple and let the public know your result.

I buy MFi certified when on sale - for example the Belkin ones from Dick Smith, which were $6 to $7 a while ago.

So, $15 is a bit much for me - just to test a cable.

Easier for you to post a copy of your receipt/invoice. I guess you must be losing a lot per cable if you offer free delivery as well.

Same fake packaging as the counterfeits sold previously by Dr Boom's Bondi Junction Store.

Identified as counterfeits by Bondi Junction Apple Store.

I think we should wait until someone gets a hands-on before passing judgement. It's always good to be suspicious when people are selling Apple products for well below retail - Apple's distribution is rock solid and margins are relatively thin. Not much price differential in grey market either.

Personally have no trouble with people selling fake cables but claiming genuine affords a level of scrutiny.

I already scutinised the photos the OP has used on his website.

They show a counterfeit Apple package.

Not much more to say - until the OP claims he used the 'wrong' pictures, and posts a copy of a receipt from Apple Australia.

        • +1

@A3Australia: I just noticed the cable shown in the picture is blatantly fake. Looks completely different from an original cable (have a look at the rubber on the ends of the cable).

        • @A3Australia:

not at all mate. not going to claim any of the above.

you seem to have had a hard time wherever you purchased from previously.

like said by others, and the norm with online shopping - wait till you get proof of authenticity rather than bad mouthing or creating keyboard wars.

If in doubt for yourself as well, please purchase one and get your proof faster.

          Thanks

        • @etronicsworld:

you seem to have had a hard time wherever you purchased from previously.

Only once. I was in a hurry and paid $2 more than the Apple Store price for a supposedly genuine Apple Lightning Cable. It was from Dr Boom.

When the cable gave an error message with an iPhone 6 (not with other model iPhones) I took it to Apple for examination.

like said by others, and the norm with online shopping - wait till you get proof of authenticity rather than bad mouthing or creating keyboard wars.

I will gladly retract my neg vote if you can prove authenticity.

Too costly for me I am afraid.

        • @Mouthful:

Apple's distribution is rock solid and margins are relatively thin.

This is the most salient point.

With only 20-30% margin on accessories, an Australian re-seller would not sell $25 Apple Lightning Cables at $15 including packing and delivery.

        • Lol

      • This video will help you distinguish real from fake

I believe that only taking the cable/package to an Apple Store will prove it to be genuine Apple or a counterfeit.

    • @squaredonut
these have been uploaded - links below

    • i have just taken pics,
      see links below:

      These do look good (genuine).

Even have the small orange/red mark.

I just can't make out if the interlocks on the USB shell are trapezoidal or square?

Genuine cables have trapezoidal interlocks, counterfeits have square interlocks.

As you are now experienced in uploading pics - why not upload one of the receipt from Apple? You can block out the price/cost.

    • The printing and packaging looks a little rough compared to what I've seen from Apple - could be the photos but would need to compare it side by side.

The lightning end of the cable looks like it's got some discolouration on it?

Counterfeits have moved on since that article was written. You can get actual 1:1 cables, with individual serial numbers and everything. You have to cut the cable to determine if its fake/genuine. That or its subtle differences in the way it's packaged - although even packaging is almost 1:1.

the imgur link is some fake packaging.. as you can see pretty difficult to see any differences

        • @Mouthful:

lol all this stress and the top 15-20 listings on ebay all say genuine original lightning cable, I might as well just fork out the money to buy the real thing…

The fakes will stop working when a new hardware and/or firmware detection/protection is introduced by Apple.

As with the fake I purchased from Dr Boom. It worked fine with all but the latest (at the time) iPhone 6.

the imgur link is some fake packaging.. as you can see pretty difficult to see any differences

I think that the label on the base may have incorrect info. on it. I will check later today at an Apple store.

Yes, and eBay has dozens of listings for counterfeit Belkin Lightning cables as well.

        • @A3Australia: Seems like the best thing to do is buy the cheapest MFI cable you can find or buy an original from the apple store.

Lol nice one mate. Im in the phone industry as well and constantly find resellers and even some warehouses stocking fake items and try to pull this same crap. My last supplier sold extremly good 1:1 Otterbox cases. I sent one off to Otterbox USA and they even confirmed they were possibly the best fakes they had come across.

Its nice to see your pushing this one. After inspecting this seller and viewing all the evidence within the ebay feedback i say your spot on. I wouldnt touch these cables..

  • +4

jv A3Australia, you've done it again!

    • +3

      Im sorry but no..

Most people who shop online do not know any better. They look at price and see that it works. Then down the track it stops working and think it was maybe them that damaged the cable and dont bother with warranty simply because its not worth that time to them.

The fact you have negatives pointing out fake cables is a redflag. If these were indeed APPLE certified, we would be seeing NO negative feedback towards the cables.

      • -4

if you are in the industry you would know that even apple cables out of the box have had issues & that apple had a recall a year or two ago.

i will not be posting supplier receipt pics as that would be giving away my supplier and purchasing abilities.

the easiest way is for those that have purchased provide detailed info on the item on hand.

A major war has started on this thread with no proof at all on the authenticity of this item - yes i am a learner and really taking the whack on this.

A3Australia is really trying to drill something down here & is really creating a big deal without a) having the product in his hand b) verifying the authenticity of the product via an authorised channel.
No doubt - there are many 1:1 copies on the market, i will not deny that.

        These have been sold since:
        a) ios 7 was out right till the latest todays date and no issues have been found
        b) the launch of the 6S of which many have purchased and no issues have been found

        • +4

          The OP etronicsworld now states:-

i will not be posting supplier receipt pics as that would be giving away my supplier and purchasing abilities.

However, previously in this same thread this OP has also made these two claims:-

          1) our cables comes from the Apple centre.

          2) our cables are genuine and original as our stock is direct from apple

Therefore I ask. How will posting a copy of the invoice/receipt for these almost 3,000 cables 'give away' the OP's supplier and 'purchasing ability'?

        • +2

          @A3Australia: damn You.

What interests me is you claimed earlier: "we wholesale to vodafone, dicksmith and harvey norman in QLD not only that we supply government"

Your ABN was active from 08 Jan 2015

    http://abnreport.com.au/abnlookup/74603607227-etronics-pty-l…

Vodafone, dick-smith and Harvey Norman are ALL certified Apple re-sellers. They would be purchasing in BULK directly from Apple. Why the hell would they come to a business that's not even 11 months old and buy fake cables? You cant even get 100% positive feedback for all your cables on Ebay.

Now that I have your ABN, I will be calling a Corporate Apple sales manager I know in the morning to check the legitimacy of your association and claims with Apple.

Further more, I will also be contacting a friend in Harvey Norman head office to also check the legitimacy of your claims and connections to them since you did mention their name.

    You talk about Accreditation: http://www.gitc.qld.gov.au/%28nzlonb45eryzlc55bcst5v55%29/fr…
But again what i cant help but notice, this business just started this year?! the Commencement Date:15/05/2015 for this accreditation Yet you claim legitimacy "we wholesale to Vodafone, dick-smith and Harvey Norman in QLD not only that we supply government"

I also wish to review the procedure in what this accreditation is based on. So I will also be making a quick phone call to the GITC to clarify on what ground a accreditation is produced and distributed.

A3Australia has valid claims. They have asked you to show documentation of the authenticity of the purchase of these products. Maybe you could of sent it to OZBargain mods and have them review it and set the record straight. That's a path you possibly could of taken. But after seeing your Ebay feedback I doubt these are genuine to start with. People don't just leave negatives like that without a reason.

Also please direct me where on your website that that states you are an genuine Apple certified dealer.

Also realized the GITC link in my above comment wasn't direct. So here a screenshot of it to save time on filling in the fields.

        UPDATE

Based on provided evidence apple contact feels this is a red flag too. So I have esculated this with the help of Apple customer relation team and they will be checking into the legitimacy and calling me back directly.

They also said the same thing, major retailers purchase directly from apple so odds are this one doesnt supply. They did highlight though that not long ago they advertised that anyone with a fake cable could come trade it in for a genuine one at a very discounted price. This is no longer the case because it was being abused.

GITC are a hard bunch to get a hold of. I will attempt one more time and if not have a friend local to their office walk in and investigate personally.

Will update this as i recieve more information.

not sure how to check if this genuine.

      It is easy.

You need to take it to a Genius Bar at an Apple Store.

Also, sometimes the store staff can tell the differences between the genuine and the counterfeit.

However, you were the first to order, and the OP would have know that you were in Sydney - always a chance that he sent only you a genuine Apple cable.
