I couldn't see any info as to when these prices would revert to the non-free variety.

I couldn't see any info as to when these prices would revert to the non-free variety

Since Amazon calls it the "Scary Good Deals", my bet is it will expire on 31 October-1 November 2015.

    • Yeah, I guessed as much but didn't include it as it would have just been my own speculation

    Guys…help please.

I upgraded to a new phone (LG G4 thanks to Ozbargain), and I lost the Amazon Appstore app.

Now when I go to look for it again to install here…its called Amazon Underground.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/mas/get/androidapp/ref=mas_rw_gts

    Is this correct?

    Help appreciated.

  • the doodle series games are great would recommend :)

    • Except they still throw in Advertising even if you paid for it with hard cash..!! Arghh.

      • There are some technical (yet worthwhile) ways to block all kinds of advertising on Android. If you have root it's as simple as installing AdAway [https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdid=org.adaway] from F-Droid, and/or AdBlock Plus [https://adblockplus.org/android-install]. If you've got the xposed framework you can go even further using a module called MinMinGuard. If your device isn't rooted, there still are some options to research, but I'm not familiar with them. Head over to XDA Developers, and use their search. There's many forum posts that can help you out.

No. My point is that if you paid for their Doodle God HD game (which I have before the Amazon deals), then you'd expect no ads. There still are and its a waste of $4 or whatever I paid for it.

Airport mania 2 is a pretty fun game.

      Me either…..

I need to get out more.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Are they free on Amazon US as well? can someone post a link please.

    • +1

Just updated all apps with US links too :)
      And yes, all free

  • Thanks, great post

  • I miss Amazon free apps, thanks axe

  • Thanks OP, it's awesome to see Airport Mania 1&2 on top of the list. Two adorable game I can spend hours on. Thank you!!!

  • Does anyone feel just a little sorry for Amazon? I have over 100 free apps and never spent a cent :)

    • +1

NO! Have you seen their market cap?

      • Have you seen their profit? They were running at break even (without profit) till few years ago. They started going into profit just recently. It's the sheer volume of items they sell or provide makes them one of the Giants in the USA market.

  • TYVM. Is there a way to acquire all the apps in your Amazon account without downloading them?

    • +1

you can click "get app" then "install" on each and just after it starts to download, click cancel. That counts as "purchasing" it and you keep it in your account.

      • Cheers. This is the workaround I needed as opposed to downloading & installing all the apps. My phone memory is full already! I'm presuming they will stay in your Amazon account forever?

    • Do it from a browser.

I used to always get these free apps. Now I realise I never use any of the apps. Lol

    • I'm the same. Still went through and click on the big 'Free' button anyway.

I like to think of this as Amazon Crapstore.

Problem is that many of their apps are out of date, sure it is great that it is free but if AVG is a year out of date it is a false sense of security. Currently though, AVG is up to date, but going by people's reviews and my experience they haven't always kept their apps up to date. Another problem is that many of their free apps they've promoted are brand new and don't have a review, or they have terrible review scores. Then you have the update process, it is more problematic that Google Play Store as I've had downloads and installs fail plenty of times unless I have the appstore open, if I swap to another app it often fails the process.

However, despite my negativity. Few great free apps there that are currently up to date:

    • AVG AntiVirus Pro
    • Runtastic Pro GPS.
    • Splashtop Remote Desktop (not HD version)
  • when does the offer expire?

Can recommend Draw a Stickman if you are juvenile like me.
I will simply say this, the stickman, the protagonist you have to draw, do not have to be drawn like a stickman.

Thanks logged in on website, and just clicked clicked clicked every link "Get it Now"

  • Cheers, still working 30/10 12:18PM

  • Runtastic PRO is one of the select apps which qualify you for a $1 credit valid towards music. Album or Singles. Details here

Has anyone found if any of the other apps in this promo qualify? That was the only one I "bought" on (US Amazon) so I don't know if any of the other free ones come with the $1 credit.
