  I am not sure this is really post worthy. If you already play the game, it's pretty hard to miss the free gift packs when you open the app. It's not like you need to enter a code or anything. Anyway, maybe it's helpful for some?

          @cerealsmok3r: Second button from left on the bottom. My Cards.
          Top left button. Binders.
          Create one if you haven't got one or go into an existing one.
          Top right, Edit.
          Top left, set from Private to Public.
          All set.

          Then daily, go to Social Hub (middle button bottom).
          Community Showcases.
          Scroll down a small amount to find your friends. Give them a thumbs up, including me. I'll get a Shop ticket. I'll do the same to you so you get a Shop ticket too.
          Repeat until we both die of old age.
          Note: you can only get 5 free Shop tickets a day.

          @mafmouf: Liking someone's showcase gives them a shop ticket. The etiquette is to like their showcase back so they get a shop ticket too. That way, everyone benefits and we can all buy the hourglasses in the shop and keep opening more packs.
